If you get ovulation cramps how soon after do you usually ovulate? I was having period type cramps on Sunday, they were kind of in the middle and to the left. I am being a little lazy this month and I haven't been temping on the weekend (I usually wake up about 2 hours later than the time I usually take it during the week and I have been using that as my excuse - LOL - like its hard to stick a thermometer in my mouth, like I said I am just being lazy), I took my temp yesterday expecting it to be higher since I had the cramps but it was still only 97.2, today it was 97.9, so I am guessing yesterday was O day? We BD'd Sat, Sun, yesterday and I told hubby probably tonight and possibly tomorrow and then he can have a break LOL - he said thats OK cause I want to get you pregnant. I love it when he says things like that. I am so insecure about him really wanting a baby or is he just going along with it cause I have been wanting one for so long now.

But back to the main question - I read online that if the cramps are really O cramps that means that the egg is being released by the ovary and thats what causing the cramps, so how long does it take after the egg is released for it to travel to the fallopian tube where is waits for DH's swimmers? Does it take a day or so, is that why it took an extra day for my temp to rise? Or maybe those cramps were something else not related? I am just really kind of interested in this - I have done so much research on conception and what happens after that, I never really learned about how the ovulation happens.

I just started paying attention the past couple cycles and what I'm pretty sure are O cramps come the day of O (mine don't really feel like AF cramps, though, more like a pinching/poking feeling - like someone's poking me somewhat hard with a blunt stick).

OK well I did some more reading and they say the cramps can either be while oculation is happening or it can precede ovulation, so I guess that is why it took a day for my temp to spike.

FOr my previous two cycles, I would ovulate a day or two after cramps.

Last cycle I truly thought I was ovulating when I was experiencing cramps on one side around day 15 or so but didn't end up ovulating until day 20. I'm not sure what that was all about. Today I have been feeling AF like cramps - not sure what will come of it (im on CD 13). Your chart right now looks as if you may have o'd yesterday - but you really won't be able to know for sure until you get temps for the next couple days. I know mine spikes for no reason sometimes but when you get the consistently high temps...that's when you know! Good luck!
