I just went potty and after I checked my CP and CM internally, I also used a small piece of tp to check my CM (not sure if you are supposed to, but I do occassionally because my fingers do not always collect everything, plus I don't ram it in there, just right inside). I am not sure if I cut myself with my finger nail or what, but I had a small bit of bright red blood mixed with some sticky CM. Have you ever had this happen? I checked once more and nothing else came out....weird.

I just checked again and there is some more blood (not thick by any means) mixed with more sticky CM....maybe I did accidentally cut myself with my finger nail? Anyone have this happen before? I wouldnt think its O spotting THIS early?

I think you might be right, you may have nicked yourself.

I mean, technically you could O this early, but I highly doubt it, especially considering your CM doesn't match up with O'ing.

Well my AF tends to linger for 10-11 days so for me this would be normal. But, for you I don't know. It does seem a little early for ovulation spotting though.

It really didnt hurt if that's what I did.
Patty-I usually just have brown discharge when AF is leaving, so I dont think it was the last remains of AF since it was red. I think I just knicked myself...gotta be more careful I suppose.

This brings up something I have been pondering. Do you think all the poking around in there could have any potentially negative effects on TTC? I worry about that a little.

I must have cut myself pretty bad because there was still red blood mixed with CM yesterday evening, only when I checked internally. I didn't notice any blood when I wiped. It seems to have healed today, but still, my lesson is learned....file nails prior to checking CM and CP!

Definitely!! Most instructions on checking CM internally say "Wash your hands and make sure your nails are trimmed."

I have naturally long nails and I've never had an issue... but that may be because I'm just used to having them and I'm always mindful to be really careful in that area.

I usually am careful, but I guess it just takes entering the wrong way once and that's it. Oh well, I am just glad it didn't hurt!
