Ok ladies, she officially showed yesterday, but I couldn't bear to update my chart. I moped around, felt sorry for myself, ate chocolate, and now I am ready to fix this thing! Have any of you lengthened your luteal phase? What can I do? Would you call your Dr or wait one more month charting? Could it just be a fluke, or does LP usually stay the same? I started spotting, as you know, 7 DPO. To me, that is alarming! I'm thinking B6 this month, then to go from there. My hubby picked some up for me, but he got 100 mg. Is that too much to take on top of my prenatal that has 15 mg already?

Anyone who has researched luteal phase defect, I would love to hear what you know! I was on googling like a mad woman last night and found lots of conflicting info. Any help would be deeply appreciated!

I think you have a good plan, start on the 100mg (that's what size Nikki takes). This should increase your LP. I am not sure how long it may take, but give it a few months (if you need to). Also, another JM member informed me NOT to go off of it quickly, gradually wheen yourself off. Also, when you do get preggo while on B6, continue taking it for several weeks after you get your BFP before you wheen yourself off because you need that LP phase to make sure the eggie sticks.

Can you post a link to your chart again? I would like to take a look. I know that some of the girls here use B6 and say good things about it. I think I would try that first.

Yep Candace is right... that's how much I take.

I had a 5 day and 7 day LP a while back. Once I realized what that meant and that B6 has been shown to help a short LP, I started taking it.

My prenatal also has some B6, but I still take 100 mg every day and I'm just fine, so I think you'll be fine to take 100mg along with your prenatal. My LP's have now been anywhere from 12-14 days.

I would definitely encourage you to give it a try. It really worked well for me. Even if you don't see immediate change, stick with it and give it a chance to see if it does help you.

I also thought I had a short LP so in addition to my prenatal, started taking B6 200mg & Fish Oil. I think it has helped the past few months now that everything has "kicked in"..... still waiting for my bfp !!!!!!!!

I started on the B6 last month and my LP went from 11 days to 13 days in one month. I took 100mg, and read that you can take anywhere from 50mg to 300mg depending on what you need. I'd start with 100mg and see what happens and go from there, either way, it can't hurt! Good luck
