First Response® - Fertility Test For Women

I just saw a commercial for this. I don't know how long these have been no the market, but this is the first I've heard of them. Honestly, I don't know that I'd want to use this for fear of it telling me that I can't get pregnant.

So, has anyone used this yet? Have you heard anything about this from someone else? What are your thoughts on an at home fertility test?First

The problem with a test like that is it can provide limited information. If it says you have fertility problems you still need to follow up with a doctor to learn if it's even true. If it says you don't then you still have to consider possibilities that it doesn't test for.

I'll use myself as an example. If I took that test it would give me a good result. Blood work showed that my FSH levels were right where they need to be. However, my estrogen is low enough that without medical assistance I can't get pregnant. It's a problem that test simply wouldn't have alerted us to.

I agree. It tests for FSH levels. Your FSH levels could be normal and you could still have fertility issues. I think it would be a good test to take if you were getting older but I think you could have normal FSH levels and still have problems.

And this is why I'd be hesitant to ever use this product. Honestly I think it could cause a lot of undo stress for women if it comes up showing that NO, they can't get pregnant when it's something that could easily be taken care of with medication or something. Yes, I see where it would be helpful because then you could just head straight to the doc instead of wasting time, but I just don't know if I could handle a test like this.
