It's best to take your temp after at least 3 hours of sleep. If you get up with him at 3:45 take your temp, then take it again at 7am. As long as you get back to sleep quickly after you wake the first time the 7am temp should be fairly accurate. Record the 3:45 temp in your notes though just in case. If you stay up for awhile after waking the first time that temp may prove to be more accurate since you'll have had less than 3 hours of sleep at 7am.
I agree you should have at least three hours of sleep. I think it would be best to stick with your usual temp time to not throw off your chart but if he is going to be waking you up at this time every day I might just switch your default temp time to 3:45 and use it. I would just wait till your next cycle to switch.
Thanks for the replies, I ended up not getting 3 hours of sleep either time, had a hard time sleeping last night. He tried not to wake me at 3:45, but I woke up anyway, but went right back to sleep, then I was back up at 6, luckily took my temp then because I couldn't get back to sleep after that, so I put that temp in and added sleep deprived. I usually temp at 7 am when I get the kids up for school.
Hey Candace, He doesn't always have to get up that early so that's why it threw me off. I usually temp at 7 am when I get the kids up for school, but ocassionally he has to get up early. So I wasn't sure what to do, plus had a really rough night sleeping for some reason.
