I thought I O'd already...

So... I got my + OPK on CD 13. So I'm thinking "Right, I'll O on CD 14 probably." I was feeling O pains that night and everything. And I've been really good and consistent about doing my OPK's trying to make sure that I keep taking them until they go back to clearly negative... and they seem to be turning negative.

So this morning I'm expecting to see a higher temp, thinking I O'ed yesterday. Nope. Temp went dooown this morning. Still got EWCM. So I'm guessing that today is O day? Which, if it is... um... YAY!!! Because it's a Saturday. DH is home with me and I can have at him when I want.

I'm so wondering if I screwed myself in previous months by stopping BD'ing the day after feeling O pains, thinking it had happened the night I felt the pains, kwim? Because I didn't make my own EWCM back then, I didn't have that to go on, ya know? I usually stopped doing the OPK's as soon as I saw the + one... so I feel like I'm tracking things much better this time.

i would go and do the deed today just to make sure.

i quit using opks and just temp but im trying to do it every other day the bding part since it will help hubby better so i have heard instead of doing it every 3 days like we are doing.

i still have watery cm this am so i hope that holds on till tomorrow so we can bd again and have one last chance at it.

i really thought you o'd already to but i guess not hey at least you get a second chance on getting to o .

i have almost missed it in the past when i didn't use OPKs just b/c my temps were convincing...i think a combination of methods is the best way to judge. Since your temp isn't up, then i'd keep going. Weird that you had a positive, then it went back and now its up again...?! Maybe your body backed off so you could get one more shot in!! Do another OPK today and see what happens. I know they say once you get your positive you can stop doing them, but i'm not a fan of that approach, esp since the ones i like are $1 each?! Plus, you know i love peeing on things!!

I'm just surprised and happy to have more time!!

Don't put too much stock in O pains, because they aren't a guarantee of anything. You can have O pains during the days leading up to ovulation (from the follicles in the ovaries being stimulated), during ovulation (from the egg rupturing through the ovary), and during the days after ovulation (from the fallopian tubes contracting). You can also have O pains if your body tries to ovulate and doesn't go through with it. It's way more accurate to go by CM - if you're wet and slippery and for 3 days after you're not anymore, you're fertile!

@ Kate... You're absolutely right!!! I meant to come back and update that is was negative... but I wound up gettin' some BD'ing instead! Then we went out for dinner and just got back.

Last cycle was the first time using OPK's for me and I didnt O until 3 days after my positive. I quite like it that way, because it gives you a longer warning that O is coming. Lots of time to get BDing in.

I'm definitely glad that it got pushed back some... I needed the extra time to get more BD'ing in. I'm feeling much better about our BD timing now!

Looks like you've done lots of bding with fertile cm. I say you are doing good. Your chart is confusing me a little this month but I bet your temp is going to be up some more tomorrow!

Patty - My chart is looking a little wacky... I think all the stress might've actually had a bit of an effect on it.

After temping this morning, when I went potty I checked CM and first noticed my cervix was lower and my CM is kinda thick and creamy, definitely didn't look fertile.

So temp's up... ewcm is gone, cervix is lower and firmer, then I did my OPK. Here's the Final Lineup

So I'm pretty darn confident that I O'd yesterday and I feel really good about our timing.

Let the waiting begin!!
