hi

i ate some gumbo yesterday that hubbys cousin made. i had never had it before so it was a new food experience you can call it.

i only ate 3 - 4 shrimp that was in it. and a little of the gizzard ( which i found out later that what it was) i normally don't like gizzard and i thought it was roast beef thats why i ate a little of it.

will that do some kind of damage or anything?

trust me im never going to eat it again unless i pick out the gizzard and shrimp next time.

hubby kept telling me to eat the shrimp so i ate a few just to please him then i left the rest of them in the bowl.

is ok to eat it this early even though i just ovulated yesterday?

thanks

Why wouldn't you be able to eat it?

I don't think its an issue. Plenty of people get pregnant and have healthy babies doign all sorts of things and eating all sorts of things. I am SURE you are fine. At this point the egg and sperm haven't even done anything yet really so there isn't really anything to hurt, you know?

I think shellfish is one of those things that is avoided by some but still enjoyed by many.

The shrimp you can have, just not on a regular basis because of the iodine. But eating some in a bowl or two of gumbo won't hurt. I would avoid the gizzard though as that can be questionable. (Although, I'm from New Orleans and have never heard of a gumbo that has gizzard in it?!) Seriously, minus the gizzard, feel free to enjoy the food!
