Ok, I got a temperature dip today at 5dpo. Normally I wouldn't worry about this, but this is what happened to me cycle before last. I'm 99% sure I had a chemical pregnancy that month. I worry that this could be the case again because 5dpo is really too early for an implantation dip, don't you think?

This is the part of temping that I hate. This isn't something you can pay attention to throughout the day, you have to wait 24 stinky hours before checking it again. So frustrating!

I wouldn't worry too much...from what I've read, 5 DPO is the early end of when implantation dips can start!

I wish I could speed up time for you!!! I see what you mean about last cycle's dip around the same time. 5DPO is early but definitly isnt impossible. A lot of girls have had ID around 4-5 DPO. GL sweetie!!! I hope tomorrow bring soaring high temps!!!

No doubt it's a hair early, but not unheard of and certainly not impossible.

Could be the first sign of a bean!!!

Thanks girls, I sure hope it's a good sign. I started off with this whole, "I'm not going to obsess over signs this month" attitude...but with that dip it sent me right into, "OMG, what's that about? Did I O when I think I did? Is that an ID? Will this be the same as cycle before last?" etc., etc., etc.

<sigh> Here's hoping that tomorrow gets here soon!

yes michelle you are VERY into this cycle!!

Why do you think you had a chemical. I always wonder what others think b/c i have had 2 that i know happened but neither confirmed.

I wouldn't worry just yet!

Kate, my suspected chemical wasn't confirmed either. I had a ton of pg symptoms (some of which could not have been IPS), a lot of which I didn't even notice, but my husband did. Like the fact that I was eating ketchup like my life depended on it. He pointed it out to me when we went to IHOP and for the first time in my life I ordered something other than breakfast food from there. I skipped right past the sandwich and dove into the fries. I went through half the bottle of ketchup before he pointed out to me how much of it I'd been eating lately. LOL

So anyway, on 13dpo I started having cramping. Now let me first say that before this I just *knew* that I was pregnant. DH also knew this too, he had not a doubt about it. So the cramping...It was SOOO much worse than cramping that means AF is on her way. I woke up that morning and just had a feeling that it was over (or about to be over) and I told DH that. Sure enough, about an hour after he left for work I started bleeding. And bleeding. And bleeding. Normally my period starts off with brownish discharge and spotting, this did not. This was full fledged bleeding. The bleeding was heavier and longer than any I've experienced before. By the time the bleeding stopped several days later, the symptoms were gone. I passed several large clots early on and always cramped worse just before that.

I just have no doubt whatsoever that I was pregnant and lost it. The best I can do now is pray that it doesn't happen again.

sounds a lot like my first one. I was craving spicy stuff and putting tons of cayenne in everything. So hot my DH couldn't eat it and he finished a BWW blazing wing challenge! I had a few other symptoms and the biggest was that my pee smelled SO strong and was really yellow even though i was drinking a lot of water. I got my VERY faint + at 10 DPO ( on 3 different test), then wanted to see if it was going to get darker before i told DH. The next morning i just woke up knowing it was over and sure enough the test was negative.

That being said, chemicals happen for lots of different reasons. I don't think your temp is anything to cause concern. I have my fingers crossed for you!

I'd try not to worry yet and just see what happens. Easier said than done, I know. Good luck to you Michelle! I'll be thinking of you.

I do not subscribe to the implantation dip theory. I think the dips you see are usually due to fluctuations in estrogen. You see a dip on lots of gals' chart at some point during the 2ww even in the gals that aren't pregnant. I have dips on my charts around cd 5 quite often.

Secondly, I have heard stories about late implantation leading to miscarriage but never heard this about early implantation.

Either way I would try not to worry yet. Just wait to see what happens tomorrow.
