hi

i used my new bbt this am for the first time and had a huge spike in temp.

anyways i have been told that i can't use my new bbt right now.

im toward the end of this cycle anyways.

do i still have to use my wonky bbt from walgreens for the rest of my cycle or not?

i just would like to know why i can't use my new bbt yet?

its not like it is mid cycle anyways. im 9 dpo and i started AF on 13 dpo last month.

is it going to make all that much difference anyways?

reason for open circle is because i took my temp with new bbt at 3:08 am after having 4 hours of solid sleep and i had to get up and use the bathroom just to be sure i took my temp.

I guess that it's really up to you if you want to use it or not, but your temp pattern may not be accurate because you are using a different BBT. I think it's better to be consistent, but that's just me. Especially if you end up needing to take your charts to doctors and whatnot they will look for patterns in your temps.

Since you're 9DPO why not just finish the cycle or if you get your BFP, you only have a few more days with the old one.

I would continue to use the old one until your next cycle. If this one is different, your pattern will be off. The actual temperature is not as important at this point (since you have oed already), but you want to see a pattern so that you can analyze your future cycles.

If you were earlier in your cycle I'd say go ahead and switch, but at this point I really would just finish out the next few days with your old thermometer.
