So I'm on cycle 8 since my miscarriage and cycle 13 since we started ttc number 2 and I'm getting desperate. Really desperate. I've started taking evening primrose oil, I'm drinking green tea twice a day and I'm charting temps and cm. I read that using egg whites as a lube can help and I mentioned it to dh and he was wondering what if we bought the containers of just egg whites? It comes in tiny little milk cartons I think. Would that be as good as seperating the yolk from the eggwhite in a real egg? I'm pretty sure I've heard everything by now with it being the 4th time we've ttc (4th pregnancy if it ever happens) but if anyone can think of something I may not know already please please mention it to me.

I would skip the egg whites and try something like Pre Seed instead. I've never heard of using egg whites, but I'm guessing it is pretty much an old wives tale based on fertile cervical fluid looking like egg whites.

Have you seen a specialist yet or had any testing done?

The pre-seed website says that although actual eggwhites are the right consistancy the PH isn't right for the swimmers.

Does your body not produce eggwhite cervical mucous? Mine doesn't so this last cycle I tried taking mucinex twice a day because it is supposed to thin the mucous and I always have thick sticky mucous around O time. It seemed to help but the real test will be in about 2 weeks! You could also order Pre-seed which is a sperm friendly lube. I ordered mine but it didn't come in time for O...

The only problem I have with pre seed is that I have to order it and I don't spend money on the internet. I'm pretty sure I get ewcm but I didn't start charting cm until after o last cycle. I do notice lots of cm at some point in my cycle I just never noticed the quality. There's a requisition in to a gyno for me but I don't expect a phone call for at least a couple months. I'm just getting really frustrated and I'll try almost anything if a few people say it'll help.

I used egg whites this cycle and I AM PREGNANT. Granted- this was only my second cycle trying but for my sanity, I brought out all the tricks and appearantly they worked. As far as the pH goes, I am trying to conceive a boy so the egg pH worked in my favor and one of his spermies got through.

I would try it with a real egg. Seperate the yolk carefully and let it sit at room temp for exactly an hour. Then, using a med dropper, squirt it into you and do the deed.

I am not saying you will get pregnant but I would try anything within reason and this cycle it worked for me. I did it after another girl got her BFP and recommended it to everyone.

Try searching here: Pre~Seed Intimate Moisturizer to see if you can find it at a local store. The idea of sticking real egg up there kinda freaks me out to be honest!

Are you able to see a different ob/gyn? I would be too impatient to wait several months for an appointment.

I did and the closest store that carries it is a 4 hour drive that we can't take right now. There's nothing I can do about the obgyn situation. We live in a small town and there are only 2 here. My doctor told me they are both incredibly busy so we just have to wait. I've been trying to contact a fertility clinic that's close by but I haven't heard back from them yet. Sometimes it really sucks living in a small town. The egg idea freaks me out too but if it actually works... I'll have a talk with a pharmacist and see what he says about it.

I don't want to discredit what anyone else has experienced with egg whites but you need to consider that it could be dangerous. There is a risk of infection. There's no solid evidence that it helps so you'd be putting your body at risk, probably for no reason.

What if you got a bad infection that could really damage your fertility long term?

If you really insist on trying it, though, I would use the stuff you mentioned in the little container since those are probably pasteurized at least.

Spending money on the internet is scary...but here's what my bank suggested and I do...

Open a free checking account with a debit card and nickname it Online Only on your bank website, DO NOT link it to any of your other accounts for overdraft protection. Have the bank put your name plus - Online only on the front of your debit card when they order it so you don't get confused. Then put it away safely in a desk drawer or somewhere near your computer. Keep the account balance at the minimum for keeping it open...so usually like $3. When you want to buy something online or even pay bills simply transfer the amount needed into the account and that's it. That way if someone in cyber space were to get a hold of your account they wouldn't be able to spend all your money...only what was in there, unlike with your normal checking account which is usually linked for overdraft protection. Anyway...just a suggestion!

That's a good idea, thanks . Do you have any suggestions to keep people from stealing packages from my front door before I know they're there? Delivery men never ring the bell or knock even when they need a signature , they just leave it.

Oh and just fyi we decided not to use egg whites. The risk is not one we want to take.

My suggestion is to call the companies that the carriers work for and complain. We were apartment living recently and they NEVER wanted to deliver to us because we lived upstairs, so instead they would just leave the package at the office. A couple of phone calls later (one to UPS, another to FedEX) and the problem was solved.

I definitely agree- The risk of infection is very low if you use the whites only- I have researched that so many times..... I have yet to find someone that say they got an infection and it completely messed up their reproduction organs. But what I did find is a lot of people getting their BFPs. So I did it and got my BFP also. I would rather using the whites and hopefully getting a BFP sooner, instead of "worrying" about it and trying for another 6 months the regular old way.

Every month I saw a BFN just broke my heart.... my heart goes out to those that have been trying much much longer than I have and I hope this "new" idea can help someone else out like it did for me.
No one is "hoping" you get an infection- we are trying to give other options that have worked for many other females. No one is also saying you WILL get pregnant- but giving you one more option to assist in it. I definitely think I got pregnant this month due to the egg whites and when we conceive baby number 3, you can guarantee I will be using it again if I am having the same dryness issue.

So to each their own-as I can understand the concern but hopefully it will help someone else out the way it did for me and two other women I know personally.
