I always thought of making him dinner one night and giving him a little box with a pair of booties in it.
Hopefully he would get the message.

I was pretty uncreative with our ds, I put the hpt in a box and had him open it. He wasn't quite sure what it meant...lol. This last time with the baby I lost I couldn't wait to show him and I wanted to make sure I was really seeing a line so I just told him. I told my family by putting a "big brother" shirt on ds.
I don't know what I'll do next time. I want to be creative, but I feel like I won't be able to wait.
I found some fun ideas on this site: Fun Ways to Tell Your Husband You Are Pregnant

I love hearing creative ideas! I know for fact that DH will not allow me to test unless he's there to test with me! (Not for any bad reason, but because he wants to see that pink line too!)
But, if I were going to surprise him, since we both have lots of tattoos, I have thought of finding a little temporary tattoo of like a jelly bean, or jumping bean (or some kinda bean!) and putting that on my belly...and just sorta wait for him to find it!

Oooh!! Even better! I know there are places online where you can design a custom temporary tattoo...though there is probably a minimum order...but you never know, you might find one that will do a small qty...what a great idea since DH is a tattoo artist!! (and too bad I live in SoCal instead of NorCal...we need a new artist out here!)

Awhile back I had a thread on this but can't remember which board so it would take me forever to find it Some of the ladies had some great ideas, like putting a pic of the + HPT on the front page of a scrapbook and giving that to him and I'm so mad at myself I can't remember the rest! I had wanted to have that news to tell DH when we got married but that didn't work out, so now I think I will get him a congrats card, go get some cute lil baby things, wrap em up and tell him we're going to need these in 9 months.
Would love to do something more creative but I'm so bad at it!

With my 1st pregnancy, I went out and bought little footy jammies & wrapped them up & gave them to him. I had the +HPT behind my back. When he opened them and gave me this terribly confused look, I handed him the test!
With Ethan (2 years later), we were on a TTC break. He was in Pittsburgh visiting family & I was so surprised I just blurted it out on the phone.

Karin: You totally got me thinking in the right direction!
Since hubby is a traditional style tattoo artist he has tons of mom/dad tattoo drawings that he has done for people. I'm going to find a good one and have it put onto a onsie! What do you think?

Someone suggested to me one time to make a special dinner of all baby sized food. Like baby back ribs or something and have baby carrots and other "baby" veggies on the side. Sounds pretty cute to me.
For us though, we bought this baby bib when we were back home visiting where we're from that has the football team from our town on it. So since I am too impatient to not let him know Im testing or to hold off telling him for very long that I got a BFP, I figured I would at least wait til we started eating breakfast and then say, "oh we forgot napkins, hold on" then I would run into the kitchen and grab the bib and hand it to him and say, "how about giving this a try" or "this should work". That way I wont have to wait too long, I can tell him that morning!!
