Hello all, I'm new here and would like to introduce myself real quick. My name's Angel, I'm 27 and have been TTC since last July. I ended up miscarried the very next month and then my husband deployed to Iraq the following month. After he returned we picked right back up and here we are trying once again! I was hoping I could run my current situation by all you ladies and see what you think. Thanks in advance!

I am currently on CD43 and either 20DPO or 6DPO. I have been very confused by my chart and feel so lost on the whole thing. I don't want to be someone who obsesses about all of this and I truly want to be as patient as I can but at this point I cant feel relaxed about it when I can't even understand. I appologize in advance if I sound like I'm ranting.

I have been off birth control since June second, I stopped taking day before placebo week figuring I would still start flow the next day like I always had before but period never came. Next month it came on July 7, following month on Aug 18. Both very light and mostly just spotting and tiny flake like tissue looking clots. Since then I have not had a period and I worry that I am not ovulating because of the odd nature of my periods. With my last cycle being 43 days and this cycle being at 43 now and not seeing an end in site I am feeling lost.

Ok, so my actual question regarding all of this is that this is my first month charting temps and am using Fertility Friend to record them. It was looking like I potentially ovulated on the 23rd and my temps did appear to go up a bit but then on what looked like 13dpo I had my first clump of jelly like CM, which I assumed was egg white cervical mucus before but I had never personally sn myself get that. Then directly after having that my temps rose signifcantly more and have stayed up higher since. So on Fertility Friend I first had my detection method as advanced at first and it had my O day as the 23rd like I had orginally thought but then I decided to move it to the FAM method to see what that would look like and it moved my O day to CD37, the day after I had the questionable cervical mucus. I now just feel lost on what to go by and what to trust. Here is my chart if you wouldn't mind taking a peak! 28bd23 Ovulation Charts

Thank you so much again in advance for taking the time to read this and I look forward to being a part of your online community.

Sending lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!!!!!

Welcome!!! That was a big jump after day 23, but I can more easily see the day 37. Sorry I can't be of too much help!

No problem Becca, thanks for looking. You can see why I feel confused about it!

Baby dust to you!

Welcome to the charting board. I think your cycles are just a little wacky because of going off the pill.

I think your o date is CD37. A couple reasons why. You won't have a luteal phase that is 20 days. Your corpus luteum (what is left of the follicle after you ovulate) doesn't survive that long. Once it disintegrates you will shed your lining and start your AF. A normal luteal phase is around 12-14 days, maybe 16 but if you start seeing a luteal phase much longer than that your o date is probably off OR you are pregnant.

Also, you can clearly see a shift in your temps around CD37. What you want to see is your temps to be above your previous six temps, which they are. I think your o date is right and now you just need to wait.

It looks like you timed things well. You bd when you had fertile cm and had a nice temp shift after that. I think you have a good shot at a bfp.

Good luck!

Patty, you just lifted my spirits so much. Thank you for looking at my chart! My only other question is if having such a late O will affect egg quality. I was told on another fertility board on a different site that late ovulating will cause poor egg quality and there is a good chance I'll miscarry. Do you have an opinion on this?

Thank you again for looking and super sticky baby dust!

I don't know who told you that but they don't know what they are talking about. The follicular phase (first half) can vary from woman to woman. A lot of women have really long follicular phases but it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with their egg quality or ovulation. As long as you have a clear thermal shift and a normal luteal phase, I wouldn't worry at all. We have a lot of gals over here that have longer cycles and it does not mean there is anything wrong.

Welcome Angel! Glad to see you over here!
Thanks for posting your chart as well. I have to say that I agree with FF and Patty...I think you O'ed on CD 37 as well.

Also, don't worry about your cycle being a bit wack. Mine took about 5-6 months to regulate after coming off BCP, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't even ovulating for the first 3 or 4. Patty's right...as long as your luteal phase is normal, you're good!

Good Luck, and welcome again!

Thank you so much ladies, I really appriciate your getting back to me about my chart. I feel so much more secure now! Now I can maybe put my husband's mind to rest, he's been a little bummed too. It's kind of a catch 22, i definately want him involved in everything so I can talk to him and everything but it hurts me twice as bad when he feels dissapointed. Anyway, I am anxious to tell him that I've had the chance to talk to other ladies that think I'm normal! lol

Also Karin, how you started does sound exactly like my situation. Glad I'm not alone! Hopefully since I was able to see a thermal shift on my chart and feel confident that I have actually O'ed, my cycles can start to regulate from here and I can relax a bit. Or who knows, maybe I got super lucky and this will actually be it! hehe Wishful thinking

Happy hump day ladies, two days until the weekend!
