Hi ladies! I'm waiting impatiently for a late AF to show so we can start TTC. I've only charted for 1 cycle, and that was almost 8 years ago when we conceived DD. My question for you more experienced charters: How much does your temp vary from cycle to cycle? (or for that matter, pregnancy to pregnancy?) Does your temp generally stay in the same range depending on what phase your cycle is in?

The reason I ask: My cycles are normally 25-27 days long. I'm on day 29 now and I've been crampy for 3 days but so far, no AF. I picked up a basal thermometer this week and I've taken my temp the last 2 mornings. I still have my old pregnancy chart from 8 years ago (ha!) and compared my temps to what they were then. They're in the same range as they were before before ovulation on that chart. So now I'm wondering if I'm having an anovulatory cycle.

Is it safe to compare these two? I'm not a patient person and when I'm forced to be patient, I end up obsessing. I hope this made sense!

TIA!

Welcome! I am definitely not an expert on this stuff but if your temps are in the pre-o range now it could just mean that AF is on her way. Not positive on that though.

Is there any chance you could be pregnant? If so, have you tested yet?

Thanks! I just started spotting so maybe I'm finally getting to CD1! So is it normal for temp to drop the day before AF? Hopefully that's all it was.

Yup, usually your temp will drop the day you get AF but mine seems to drop gradually. Good Luck!

Yes, that is pretty normal.

I have my old charts from when I was last ttc and my charts are pretty different now. They are kind of similar from cycle to cycle, but not that similar. (This is just speaking for myself.) If it's been 8 years I would suspect they'd be different, but you never really know.

I was going to say the same thing as Teresa. I wouldn't think your charts from 8 years ago would be all that similar to how they are now. My cycles have changed a lot over the years. Your temp dip does sound like an indicator of AF. Most ladies will see a temp drop right before AF shows.

I am so glad you joined us. It sounds like your next cycle is about to start and you can start really charting to conceive. I hope your bfp comes quickly. If you have any questions ask away.

Welcome to the board!!!

I'm happy to report I'm on cycle day 1! Finally we can start TTC! I had a huge temp drop this morning. It was 96.77! Maybe 8 years of aging has made me cold blooded.

Thanks for helping to ease my mind. I can't believe how nervous I am about TTC again! I was like this with DD1 but with DD2, I was so relaxed that I was 5 days late before I decided to test. I can't imagine that now!

I know what you mean. I used to wait until AF was late before I test and now I am chomping at the bit to test days after I ovulate.

Good luck! I hope you ovulate quickly so we can stare at your chart.
