Well, I went to the doctor this morning and just now got home. After my yucky morning, I decided to treat myself to some books at the used book store and lunch so I am sitting here eating a salad. (I weigh more than I would like from the doctor's office so I'm working on that LOL) It's been a rough day- the urine test at the doctor was negative so we're going with a chemical pregnancy. I was bawling in the office, and he said usually he waits for the third miscarriage to run tests but he had me go get blood work done to check things. I got a beta hcg, TSH, and then a whole panel of tests to test for clotting disorders which I guess can cause chemical pregnancies. I meet with him again in 2 weeks to discuss the test results, but can call for the beta on Friday. If I haven't had my period by then, he wants to schedule a D&C and also a test that I can't remember what it's called to check out my uterus and ovaries. He wants me to have one normal period before we try again, but he mostly said that was for psychological reasons, so we'll see.
I wanted to thank everyone for their support through these past few days- they have been awful but we will get through it!

I'm so sorry. I'm glad that your doctor is running some tests for you. Hopefully he'll be able to either put your mind at ease or give you some answers.

Why would they just schedule a d&c? Why wouldn't he want to make sure you weren't having a viable pregnancy FIRST. I would insist on a follow up beta first and possibly an ultrasound depending on what your numbers look like before you do a d&c if you don't start AF in the next two weeks.
I know that you very well may be having a chemical pregnancy, but if you don't get AF in the next two weeks you could very well be having a viable pregnancy.
I am glad to hear he is running tests. It sounds like he wants to do an HSG to check your tubes and uterus. I just had this test done myself.
(((HUGS))) Please keep us posted.

Well, he doesn't think it's a viable pregnancy because the tests went from positive to negative, but depending on the number he said we would see.

That makes sense but I would wait to see what your blood work says.

Sorry to hear you are going through this.
Hopefully you'll get a normal cycle very soon so that you can start trying again quickly.

Thanks ladies! It means a lot to me to have you all thinking about me- it's especially hard since DH and I didn't tell anyone I got a BFP.

It really is great that the doctor is running those tests and I hope he can help things start to make sense for you so you have a starting point. I'm so sorry your going through this! Good luck for the next couple of weeks while your waiting to see him again and get some possible answers.
