We get plenty of snow here in Michigan. I really don't like winters though. I hope we have a mild winter but I would like to have a white Christmas. Every year I sit and hope we don't get any until Christmas but that just doesn't seem to happen around here. Sometimes I miss living in the south. LOL.

Hey patty,
We live in Washington state and while snow isnt something we necessarily can expect to get at our home we have seemed to see it the past few winters without fail. I actually am one of those off people that does like it when it starts to get cold.. I love the leaves changing and then falling and I love the cold air. Maybe because I love getting to be bundled up and have the heater on and fires going. The only thing I dread is the rain.. we may need it, but I hate it! That and the ice, are the worst. I would be able to enjoy the snow everyday all year if we didnt have to have ice with it.
Also, if we do get snow it will be at super random times. Rarely around Christmas though, it will generally be early in the season and then right around when we kind of expect it to warm up slightly. I hope for a while Christmas this year!

I live North of Seattle and we typically get snow. Last year we had some right around Christmas. I think the airport was shut down, it was a bad year. This year isn't supposed to be very cold they are a little worried with the Olympics in Canada this year and not enough snow. I guess we will see. I do love the fall though with all the color changes.

Jeez Patty! You of all people should know you aren't allowed to say dirty words on here! And to say SNOW!!!! That's the worst of all the 4 letter words!!!
Yes we get snow here. (Iowa) No, I don't like it. I want to wake up with a nice blanket of snow on the ground on Christmas Eve and I want it gone again on the 26th! Unfortunately that NEVER happens.
Actually they had an inch of snow in Des Moines (1 hour away) yesterday and Omaha (3 hours) had 4-5 inches. Luckily we didn't get any.......yet.

I dont remember hearing that the airport was shut down this last winter but than again I was out of the state for a couple of months right in the middle of winter. I do know that last year was all around a bad year, not just in WA, I know of people stationed at several points around the states and have heard that it was horrible. Hope this year is better than!

Yes we do get snow in Delaware... since we're closer to the water, there is often a bit more humidity in the air, which lends itself to snow.
and
YES I am looking forward to it!! This is going to be my first FULL winter with a fireplace and I couldn't be happier!!
I'm actually getting my first 2 cords of firewood delivered tomorrow!!

We just got a few flurries yesterday, nothing stuck to the ground. I actually like the snow I just hate the melted dirty slush it leaves behind. Last year I think it only snowed a few times that I can remember, it was a pretty mild winter.

i live in north texas (dallas area) so we get what looks like snow in the air, and then hits the ground, melts freezes over night and turns into a icy nightmare. That's why we have to close everything down even if its not really "snowy". I don't mind it as long as it doesn't happen too often. But i like to look at the frozen white stuff!! I would love to live somewhere with snow more often than once every 3 years.

What is this "snow" that you speak of? I live in SC and we hardly ever see snow. If we do, we only see it fall, it never sticks.

We get lots of snow in Southern Alberta. Actually, this January we had so much snow that the city couldn't clean it all up so our street got so slushy I couldn't get my car out of my parking. I'd get stuck 3 times a day. I hope there is nothing like that this year. But since I'm moving to Michigan in January, I'm expecting it to be just as bad there

I'm in Michigan too Patty, I'm looking forward to the snow up until after Christmas, then I'd prefer it to go back to sunny and 80s

Not a lot of snow in Portland, Oregon but just enough for me. It is maybe a week or two at most and that's right about when I am getting tired of it so I like that.
Nikki - We may also be having our first winter with a fireplace! If this house we're trying to buy works out. We should find out this week.
