Hey guys,

I've been charting myself over the past two weeks and I'm currently at day 14 right now. What freaks me out is that I previously had a fairly constant oral temperature of 97.5-97.7 over the past two weeks but over the past few days this has been my BBT:

Oct 9: 97.6
Oct 10: 97.3
Oct 11: 96.9
Oct 12: 96.6
Oct 13: 96.1

Over the past 5 days, my BBT in the morning has dropped a total of 1.5 F. I'd just like to know if this is normal? Please help, I've been freaking out. O.o

Notes:
1: Oral BBT taken
2: It's day 14 right now.

I am so new to charting I am not sure. Seems like a lot of ladies have a temp drop before o but I am really not for certain. I hope someone can help more than me. They are a really great group. And Welcome.

I usually have a drop around the time I O, so maybe today was your O day?

It might be, thanks. But is it normal that a temperature could drop that much within 5 days? It's 1.5 F or around 0.8 C degrees. Sorry if I'm being annoying but I'm just scared about the degree of the drop.

Yes, this is really normal. When you are on your period your temps will be higher then before you ovulate they will stop to drop. Often right before you ovulate you will see a big temp drop. My guess is you will ovulate soon. Are you noticing eggwhite looking cervical mucous or any other fertile signs?

I also waned to give you a big welcome to the charting board! Do you use fertility friend?

I haven't used fertility friend but I guess I'll try it.

Side-Question: Oral BBT before Ovulation is 96-98 and Post-Ovulation is 97-99 is it?

Thanks everyone. This is a really friendly community.

Pre and post o temps really vary from woman to woman. I am so glad you like it here. I hope you will stick around. You can set up a free account with Fertility Friend to record your temps. It just makes it easier to share your chart with others.

I might try that, thanks. I have a slight issue though. I've been taking my temperatures as soon as I get up every morning but sometimes, I sleep in an air conditioned room and sometimes I don't. Does this vastly affect the charting of BBT?

Air conditioning shouldn't make a MASSIVE difference in your temps.

I agree with everything that has been said. Dramatic declines in temps are VERY normal leading up to O day. Here's my chart from July just as proof.

I wouldn't be surprised if those temps are dropping in preparation for O.
