Ok, two questions actually. First of all, is it possible to have a higher amount of LH in you system at all times? If so, is this something that can be caused by cysts?
Also too, I let my pee sit for an extra 10 minutes before testing (it tells you to let it sit for 30 minutes before testing), would that affect my test results? I ask because I did the first test and at first thought the test wasn't going to work properly, so I dipped a second stick and the second test is lighter...but it's the same urine. The first picture has the first OPK that I dipped, the second picture has both that I dipped today, first on top, second on bottom.

I cant help you on most of the questions.. but i do know that some OPKs are too sensative for me to use. For example using First Response OPKs i got 3 days of + and Answer i got 4 days of + but with the IC i only got 1 +.
I hope some other girls have better answers for you.
good luck.

To answer your first question yes. Gals with PCOS may have a higher than normal baseline level of LH.

Women with conditions like PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) or POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) may have higher than normal LH levels which may interfere with the results of an ovulation test. Because these women have a higher than normal baseline level of LH in their systems, it may make testing less accurate because their bodies needs to reach a higher LH level to indicate a surge than the average woman.

Can You Have a Positive Ovulation Test Result and not Ovulate?
If you continue having dark opks and don't ovulate I would make sure to bring this up at your appointment.

I bought the Answer brand 2 cycles back and found my tests looked like yours did pretty much all month except for the 2 days I got my + and IC's only gave me 1 day of +'s that same month. Like you, I find it confusing that there is always color, I like have stark white sticks until it gets close, makes things much easier to read!
I emailed my ebay guy on Friday and he hasn't gotten back to me yet I bought from the same guy last time and they were here within 2 weeks!

I have heard other people say that about Answer brand and I know that I have had cycles where I got more than one positive opk when I used Answer brand. I think they may detect your surge at a lower LH level than other brands. It is not my favorite brand. Strangely enough, I like the cheapies the best.
