So, I woke up this morning and had that familiar feeling of a UTI coming on. I went to work, but spent most of my time going to the rest room instead of teaching. I went to the doctor and officially have a UTI. My question is, does having a UTi affect TTC? Wouldn't you know this happens right before I will be ovulating. After the initial pain, I think that I will be fine. Just not sure if we should keep trying or if I should just let this cycle go?

Ughh, oh the joys!!!

Oh, no Brooke, that is no fun! I would check with your doctor but I think it's probably not a good idea to BD while you have a UTI...and normally I would say make sure you pee before and after to reduce the chances of any further infection...but of course if your TTC you don't want to pee right after.

Maybe I'm being paranoid to think you shouldn't...so I would call your nurse or doctor.

Hope you feel better!

I got a UTI not too long ago. They gave me Keflex (sp?) to treat it. I told him I was ttc so he picked an antibiotic that he said wouldn't interfere. I suppose the infection itself could cause a problem but I think if you get it treated you will be okay. If it were me I would just keep bding. I would hate to waste a cycle. This is just my thoughts though.

Yeah, I was planning on holding out today and then getting back to BDing hopefully tomorrow if I'm feeling better. I'm just very frustrated since I should be Oing any day now. I tried to take an OPK, I just couldn't tell what it said since it turned orange from the medicine I'm taking, lol. I'm just a little frustrated right now.

Ugh, that stinks! I would take a break today and then BD tomorrow if you feel up to it. If you aren't sure, maybe you could call a nurse on call number or something and see what they say.
