Ladies I am going to see my doc in 10 days for my annual appt which was supposed to be back in August when i had my m/c. Anyway....i am going to talk to her about starting testing and potentially MA. Any suggestions? I have asked around on the MA board but would love your opinions too. I am anxious to finally get some professional input after 16 months.

I don't know what to tell you there. I'm going Thursday and although we haven't been trying very long, not having a regular cycle isn't giving us much of a chance to try. (CD 72 today! )

I will say to be sure and let her know about your history of chemicals so that she can check your hormone levels, etc. and be prepared to have you checked as soon as you get your next BFP. Good luck, Kate. I hope that we both get answers soon!!

I'm in the same boat with you Kate...

I've got my first appointment in 8 days and I'm not really sure what to ask either.

I've got all of my charts printed out... I'm prepared for them to think I'm a dork for charting since so many docs seem to act that way about it.

I'm definitely going to mention the fact that I've had some spotting before AF is due for the past couple of months.

Nikki, I plan on printing out my charts as well and have the same fear...that the doc is going to think I'm a dork for doing this. I don't know why, but I have the feeling that she won't be one to appreciate my efforts there.

I'm glad to know that you are going to the doctor as well. Here's hoping that since we are all going to the doctor soon that we'll all get BFPs and end up in the same DDC soon!!

I've personally gotten a negative reaction from charting. I went to see a fertility doctor a month or so ago, and he told me that temping takes too much time, and I should just stop doing it. He did agree with OPKs, though. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience than me, and they'll give you a big pat on the back for already doing so much work for them.

What the heck does that mean? Temping takes too much time? It takes 2 minutes... MAX each day!

Danny is of the opinion that the doctors don't like it because it gives us information without their help. LOL! I told him he may have a point, but that makes no sense for a doc to feel that way because all it will do is show if there is a problem. We've still gotta see them to get it sorted, kwim?

I wish there were a directory of doctors that support BBT charting then we could pick doctors who we know are familiar with charting and supportive of it, ya know?

I would just tell them your history.

When I was ttc Jeremy, I finally went to see a doctor for a work up after I had three losses. I found a brand new doctor because the ones I had seen before kept acting like I didn't need any testing. Anyway, I would just tell them your history and that you want a baby and go from there.

If you have any ideas of things you have read to try bring it up. For example, when I was ttc Jeremy I had read that sometimes women can have miscarriages due to unexplained infections. I asked my doc for a prescription for erethromycin (SP?) and he pretty much said what the heck it can't hurt. I asked him about baby aspirin and we also talked about prometrium. My point is if there is something you think you want to try bring it up and see what he says. I would wait to see what he says before you start throwing out your own ideas because doctors don't always like when patients try to self diagnose/self treat but don't be afraid to talk about things you have read or think would help you.

I hope the dr will be able to help! I can't believe that doctors wouldn't think charting was useful! I have learned a LOT about my body/cycles by charting and you're doing half of their job for them. I hope your dr appreciates that you have done it!

Hopefully I'll fare okay. All of the docs at this office are women... so maybe that will help, considering that they actually have all of the parts they are trying to treat! HA!!
