So far... so good... Nothing making me wanna run back into my cave just yet!

Thanks to everyone who PM'd to check up on me and let me know I was missed.

You'll all be glad to know that I have found an OB office accepting new patients and have made my first appointment for Tuesday, Nov. 3rd at 10:45 am

I'll be seeing their Nurse Practitioner because she was the only one who had an opening before December and honestly, I just didn't want to wait that long. But they said the NP can do everything the regular docs do with the exception of delivering a baby. So I figure that's fine for now.

So... 8 days and I see the doc. Now if this cycle is anything like my previous ones, I'll be O'ing the day of my appt. Hopefully that won't preclude me from having any kinds of testing done. I'm kinda new to this whole doctor thing.

Welcome back! When I recently went for testing, they had very specific cycle days that they wanted me to take some of the tests on, so you may have basic exams/blood test the first visit and then have to come back at certain cycle days for other tests.

Also, I don't know if this is standard or not, but I was never asked if I had O'd yet. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that they would take that into consideration. They did give me a pregnancy test so they wouldn't knock a little eggie loose with my saline sonohystogram, but I knew at that point that I hadn't ovulated yet. All of my tests were pre-O because I seem to have issues staying pregnant, so I'm not sure when or what tests they do post-O.

Good luck!

Yah! Nikki's back!!! I was missing you.

I am feeling a bit emotional today, thank you Clomid. When I read your post I almost burst into tears. I am so proud of you for making an appt. Guess what? Your appt is one day after mine. And guess what else? We are cycle buddies this month!!!! I wanted to tell you that earlier to cheer you up but I was afraid I would be annoying you.

I am so happy that you have a doctor's appt and I truly hope that your appt goes well and they can get you on your way to your bfp!

Patty ~ I was waiting for you to read this posting!! I just knew you'd be all jumpin around for joy that I have an appt!! LOL!!!

YAY for us being cycle buddies & doc appt buddies!!

I won't lie... I'm kinda nervous about the appt. I tend to get a fair bit of anxiety and I get really tense when it comes time for OB visits. I've had a few painful experiences in that "vicinity"... so I think a part of my brain is always afraid there is going to be more pain and I find it really hard to relax. Hopefully my excitement about getting some answers and/or a plan will overrule my usual anxiety.

I totally understand why you are nervous. I have to have mental talks with myself sometimes when I have anxiety. I am a little nervous about my own appt so we can be nervous together.

I really hope you come back telling us how much you love your new doctor's office!

it just so happens my appt is the day I am supposed to O too...so I am hoping to either o earlier or shortly after...but knowing my body i will be Oing on day 14. I'm not sure what tests they will actually run that day other than just b/w if anything. I'm working out our bd plan. DH is like, thanks for the schedule. I apologized and said, this is one of those things that has to be timed and if i dont' tell you it won't happen. So i think we're gonna plan to BD the morning (or late night before) the day before my appt and then that night after (assuming i'm up to it). Probably won't be the world's best BDing this month, but whatever. Just figured i'd tell you my plan of attack on that situation.

Patty - Deal! We'll be anxiety riddled together!! Maybe if we spend enough time talking each other down, we won't have a chance to be nervous for ourselves!! HA!

Becca - I didn't know you were in Delaware too!!! I'll definitely give you a report card on the doc.

Kate - That was the other thing I was thinking about this morning... BD timing. I'm thinking maybe if we can get a BD session in early in the evening the day before my appt it won't be too much of a problem for the exam. I'm worried if we do it late at night there might be too much residual "stuff" left over and the doc will be like "Um, thanks for that." kwim? LOL!

LOL, this thread is too funny!! Nikki, I wanted to tell you that I used to see the NP at my old GP's office and I like her SO much better than the regular doc. Don't get me wrong, I loved my regular doc, but the NP was always will to do more in the way of treatment and such. I asked her about that one day and she said it was because she wasn't as hindered by the big stuff that the main docs have to worry about...like patient billing (she could spend as much time with people as needed). I hope that you find the same to be true about the NP you will be seeing! Lots of luck to you that you get answers and a BFP fast!

Thanks Michelle. I hope that holds true for my NP as well. Hopefully I'll get a plan of action so that I can start doing something other than "the do", ya know?

I do know, cause I'm hoping for the same thing! LOL Heck, at this point I'd be happy just to ovulate regularly so we ACTUALLY have a shot at getting pregnant. We'll see how it goes. I can't wait to hear how all of our doctors appointments turn out as there are a number of girls who have them set!

Nikki, I LOVE nurse practitioners. They are usually more thorough and patient and less frustrating than doctors. If I have a choice of a doctor or a NP I usually will pick a NP. Every once in a while I will find one I don't like, but generally speaking I like them better. I'd make sure you tell her right away about your anxiety with seeing a doctor. I have huge problems with anxiety and used to have full fledged anxiety attack (you know the embarrassing pass out on the floor hyperventilating type). I still have them, but most of them are manageable with self talk and either that or a frantic phone call to my sister to calm me down, lol. I am glad you are going to the doctors and I hope she gives you lots of answers. ((Hugs))
