I just checked online and some products advertise as vaginal/oral/rectal thermometers. I'd assume that it would be safer for you to wait 'til you get advise from one of the other more experienced mommies around here but if you have already started charting for this month, I highly recommend that you finish off your cycle without switching thermometers or the way you take the temperatures as the results will almost definitely vary.

You can use your regular BBT to temp vaginally, you don't need a specialized one. The only thing that I will tell you is to wait to start vaginal temping when you begin a new cycle as your temp will be higher when taken vaginally and it will be hard to determine your O date.

Also too, you only have to insert the tip into your vagina. There was someone who mentioned putting it way up inside and that's not necessary. Good luck! Let us know how you like vaginal temping! I'm changing to it if this cycle ever ends.

Yup, you can definitely use it vaginally.............just make you sure you wait until you start a new cycle as Michelle said. I started out takin gmy temp orally but had to switch to vaginally because my temps were all ove the place due to me mouth breathing in my sleep.

I also temp vaginally and find that the temps are much more consistent that way. But, yes, you want to wait until the beginning of the next cycle if you are going to change.

I temp vaginally, otherwise i can't see the trend. As said before, I would wait till your next cycle. Your temps will be very different.

I use the normal BBT thermometer to temp vaginally. Just make sure you wait until the next cycle. GL i hope it works for you as well as its working for me

thank you ladies, ok cool i'll definately do that. my temps have flat lined though. i think i posted and asked this before. its now going on 4 days of 97.6. i'm in the middle of doing that charting course on ff hasn't yet mentioned flat line temps. maybe i haven't gotten to that lesson yet but we'll see i'm going to assume its normal. i'm going to wait til this one ends before using a new one. although i tested my current one and the temps changed so guess we'll see how this cycle plays out.

I agree. You don't need a special thermometer to use it vaginally.
