I have never charted before. I want to try. I just started my first postpartum period (at 14weeks PP) last night. What do I need to get started? Do you use a website to record everything on? What do I need to know? What do I do?

I actually I have money in my paypal account, so if there's stuff I might need to buy, I can. Show me what I need.

Thanks!! This should be fun. We want to get prego again asap. So I hope charting will help.

You need a basal body thermometer and that's about it. I would register for Fertility Friend. It's free. Then all you have to do is take your temp at the same time each day without getting out of bed and record it. You will also want to record cervical mucus too and cervical position as you get the hang of it.

YAY!!! A new charter!! Welcome!!

You can find BBTs just about everywhere now, Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen's... and they're usually less than $15 bucks.

YAY!! A new chart to stalk!!

Hi! Welcome to the charting board! To get started you need to buy a basal body thermometer. I usually buy mine from early-pregnancy-tests.com or you can also get one from amazon.com. You can get them at a drug store too but since I don't live close to any I usually just buy mine online.

Then you want to start taking your temp first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. You need to take it at the same time every day in order to have an accurate chart and you really need to stay in bed while you temp. I set my alarm for 6am and temp. A lot of times I just record my temp and go back to bed.

There is more to it than that but I would start with temping and go from there. Set up a free account with Fertility Friend. It will mark your ovulation date for you so you don't really have to know what you are doing. And, we will help you learn.

I would recommend reading all the links in our charting school and also if you are serious about wanting to learn how to chart I would pick up the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

When you get your chart set up be sure to post the link in our chart stalking sticky so we can stalk you!!

Cool...sounds easy enough. Kelly wakes me up at the same time every morning, so I can do it then. Since I don't have the thermometer yet, I'll have to get one tomorrow and start on Monday. I'll be sure to link it. This should be interesting!

actually...thinking about it.. i might be able to get one tonight. im going to be picking up the hubby from bar/party/whereever he is with his friends later. cvs is open all night.
