I was browsing around JM and man alive there are some RUDE, MEAN people around here!!! And what really gets me is that looking around, I saw LOTS of newbies coming in and saying flippant things to the regulars. Talk about not going over well! I mean seriously, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I think that people should feel free to expresses said opinion...but at some point in life it's helpful if people learned this thing called TACT!

My journey to a couple of other boards has made me really appreciate all of the wonderful women that I have here to keep me company through this madness we call TTC!

That's awful if newbies--or anyone--is acting in a way that doesn't even want to make you stay at a board. =(

I am going to send you a pm about this. I take a lot of pride in JM being a friendly and supportive community and this is not something I like to hear.

I just wanted to say this to the rest of you guys. If you ever see anyone being rude on JM let us know about it. We rely on our members to tell us about problems. I never want to hear people saying that JM is filled with rude people so please let us know about it if you see problems. You can PM me any time.

I've heard the occasional story from girls who ventured outside of their normal groups only to come running back all shell shocked! One was actually a HOST being rude!! I told the girl complaining to send a PM to the Muckety-Mucks (HA!!) because that's completely unacceptable behavior, especially coming from a host who is supposed to be here for support and assistance, not to start s#%t!

If I ever hear any other issues, I'll be sure to let you know Patty.

I have had this same problem on many websites similar to this one. On JM, the charting section here is definitely my favorite and have seemed to be the most friendly and welcoming. The worst site I have been on was Baby Center... I found a few select groups that had some nice women but mostly I was made to feel dumb when I asked a question or would just be disregarded. It's a community where we are supposed to share and discuss so I would feel so bummed that I couldn't get anyone to really talk with me! lol, how sad to be a loner even online!

Thank you ladies on JM and especially here with the charting help. You're all helpful and also keep me sane at times!

I have definitely found JM to be the friendliest message board site that I have been on. All the boards I post on a super nice. (Nikki - I wonder if the host you heard about was the same one I heard about?)

The meanest board I have ever been on is Weight Watchers. There are some boards there that do not like new people posting at all. There was one where they had a huge long list of rules for new people and they attacked any new person who posted outside of their newbie thread. Pathetic.

Cara, I have SO seen this on weight watchers online! lol... I had women criticizing me for something, I cant remember what, and I was just blown away. How can any of those women think they are superior to anyone else, I mean obviously every one of them are in need of help losing weight, thats why we're all there, so what makes any one of them any better? Oh dear, some people!

I must be in my own bubble! The boards I go to all have wonderful ladies... this is one of them of course! And I've seen the odd thread get heated due to different opinions but I thought everyone on here was as awesome as us!

Well until Patty told me about it, I'd never noticed the "Report Post" button on each posting. I'm one of those people who sees only the things that are pertinent to me with stuff like that and since it wasn't "Reply", "Quote" or a smilie, it was pretty much invisible to me. LOL

I agree that JM is the nicest place that I've found for discussing TTC and honestly has the most knowledgeable people as well. So many sites have people just randomly answering questions and have nothing to back up those answers. I think that's why I especially love it when someone directs the poster to a link here on JM as backup to what they are saying.

I will most certainly report any posts that are rude/offensive/mean in any way. I just hope that it's something I don't come across too often. Honestly though, the worst of it generally happens in the DDCs...but I'm sure that's because there are hormones flying all over the place on those boards!

I've been noticing the meanness more recently too... Makes me second guess a lot of what I would post.
