Hey ladies, some T's and P's for my hubbo please?
Last night he started complaining of a sore back. It was bad enough he had trouble walking up the stairs. I gave him some advil and got him bed, and thought that would be the end of it. Around 3 am he calls me on my cell phone, and tells me he can't get up. I go upstairs, and he's so pale and sweaty and quivering with pain. When he tried to move to stand, his back would go into spasm and he had tears rolling down his face. I thought he was going to pass out. Then all of a sudden he broke out into hives and they started spreading quickly. I gave him some benadryl and a vicodin (saving it for a rainy day). Hubby didn't feel much better after that, but was able to get to his feet (cursing all the way). I laid him down in my car (i have a hatchback) and we headed to the hospital. We waited around a lot. His BP was through the roof 170/100. They gave him a shot of something while I was in the bathroom, and when I came back, he was drooling, but much more comfortable. We just got home, and now his pain is controlled on percocet and flexoril. Well.. not controlled, but not as bad. The hives went away around the time the pain did. We have no idea what started all this though. I'm taking a couple days off, seeing as he can't even get to the bathroom by himself.
Please send some healing vibes for my poor hubby.

HOLY CRAP!!!

Bless his heart... I am so sorry to hear he is in such pain. I will definitely be keeping you both in my thoughts and sending some healing energy your way.

I'm glad to hear you will be home with him over the next few days. KUP on how he's doing...

My goodness. I would be freaked out. Is he going to be following up with the doc on this? It sounds like something that needs looked into.

OMG. You guys are in my T&P's. Do they have any idea what would have caused that?

OMG how scary! I'm surprised they didn't keep him overnight for observation! I hope he's ok, you're the best for staying home to take care of him

(((Hugs))) I have seen my dh pull his back out before and it was pretty painful, but the hives and high blood pressure to go along with would have scared the crap out of me. I hope he is feeling better soon.

That's so scary! You guys are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you can get some answers to what caused it all, too.

Wow. I hope he is doing better. LIke some of the other ladies have asked, do they know, or think they know, what may have caused this to happen?

They're not sure what caused it, but they think its just horrible muscle spasms. We can't even think of any lifting my husband did. The rash was a previous allergic reaction that spread due to body stress, as was the high blood pressure. He's doing better today, but he's also doped up on drugs lol.

That's just so weird!!! I am glad he is doing better, even if it means he is in la-la- land for a bit.
