I was getting really upset. This morning I decided to start calling around for a new doctor because it is just impractical to drive two hours to my old doc. I called several doctors and they all kept saying sorry we don't do vbacs. I was getting really mad.

I finally found one. It is about an hour from me but in order for me to have a vbac I pretty much am going to have to drive an hour. As far as I know there is only one hospital in the area that allows vbacs and it is an hour from me. Then I explained that I have had two ectopics and that I needed someone that could see me quickly and do early ultrasounds for me and she acted like that would be no big deal.

I was going to schedule a pap with them but it wouldn't have been until December. I explained I was probably going to be getting IVF in December and that I didn't want to schedule anything around that time because I didn't want to mess anything up.

She said to just call them back when I get pregnant and they can do the pap at my first prenatal appt. I am so happy now. I really don't want to have another csection. I would if my baby was at risk or there was a medical reason for it but not just because. I am so relieved. They were a high risk practice too so that is even better.

Now I just need to get pregnant.

That's great Patty! I was surprised that my Dr. said they do them. I'm just too chicken I guess. I'd much rather have a vaginal birth than a c-section but I'm afraid of the risks.

Is there a reason you really want the VBAC? I think it's great! I mean, there are risks with a c-section as well, so...

I have already had a vbac. My first two births were vaginal. Then Brandon was born prematurely. My placenta abrupted and I went into labor 7 weeks early. Because of that he went into distress and I had to have an emergency csection. So, for me my reasons for having the csection are not likely to be repeated. I would have another csection in a heartbeat if there was something wrong with my baby or me but I just don't want to have one just because. Lyndsey's birth experience was the best birth experience I have had so far. She was an unmedicated vbac. I actually didn't intend to have her naturally. She was supposed to be a scheduled csection but she decided she wanted to come early and fast. The doctor couldn't get there fast enough to do the csection. By the time she arrived I was already at 10 cm. The nurse literally had her hand up there holding her in. They wouldn't give me any meds even though I asked. Even though I was upset at the time I am glad that I got to have a natural birth. Had I not done it, I wouldn't have realized that I could do it. Now I want to do it again!

That is great news!! I imagine that the recovery for a vaginal birth would be WAY easier than the recovery from the c/s. That's one of my main reasons for hoping for a vbac! I'm fortunate that my OB is willing (as long as there as everything is going well) to allow a VBAC for me whenever I'm pregnant again. I had a placental abruption as well and had an emergency c/s at 34 weeks.

That's so awesome that you found a cooperative dr. I'm also hoping for a VBAC as well. DD decided to flip on the day that I went into labor and was coming out but first, so I had to have an emergency c/s. I'm so hoping to have a VBAC the next time around. I know that it can be painful, but the recovery has got to be better.

Ahh, that makes perfect sense, Patty! My c-section was b/c Emily wasn't dropping down and the monitors showed she was in a little distress. They had even given me a shot to stop the labor at one point. Then they let me choose, somewhat planned c-section by choice now, or try labor and end up possibly with an emergency one later. I chose "planned."

She was 9 lbs 4 oz so maybe that's why? It might be something that could be likely to happen again, unlike yours, if I have a big baby. I would love to avoid the c-section though!
