So I have to see the vampires in 2 hours.

Hopefully they'll leave me enough blood to actually manage driving home! LOL!!!

I probably have not gone into this yet.... but I HATE needles. Absolutely HATE them!!! I'm the biggest wuss when it comes to that. So, hopefully I'll get a really good phlebotomist and I won't be in too much pain.

Then I can come home and have my coffee and EAT!!!

You probably want to eat before going.....unless the told you otherwise. Or at least bring a snack for right afterwards.

No dice. I'm not allowed to eat before the blood is drawn.

That's why I can't wait til it's done!!!

Ya know I have a zillion phobias (I remember walking 8 flights of stairs when I was pregnant with Jeremy to avoid having to get in an elevator) but weirdly enough needles are not something I am afraid of.

If you get a good phlebotomist they aren't too bad.

I am really happy you are getting your blood work so quickly. I hope they can get you the results ASAP. Good luck!

Make sure you call if they don't call you. I know when I got my FSH test done they never called me. I just got a post card in the mail with my results. I would have called to find out but I wasn't really concerned about it. I just wanted to get it checked off my list of things I had to do.

I hope it went well, Nikki! I have had blood drawn lots of times, and have had both very good and very bad phlebotomists, and everything in between! Glad you are getting all the tests done!

I'm back. Had my blood drawn and ran a few errands.

The phlebotomist was actually really good. The part I hate the most is when they are changing vials... that's when I feel the needle wiggling around in my arm and that is not nice.

Now... we wait.

Nikki, I had my doc appt and a blood draw this morning also! Doc refused to even look at my charts and said not to bother with temps, he can tell by my CM that I havn't O'ed and to come back to see him in Febuary if I haven't gotten PG yet and he'll refer me to a fertility specialist. He ran a whole butt load of tests and talked to me about PCOS, so I guess he suspects that.

And by the way, I HAAATTTEEE needles too... I go in there and they have to sweet talk me and distract me and the whole nine yards to get me calm enough. Don't ask me why but I start to panic every time I sit in that chair.

Anyway, just wanted to share my same phobia of needles and my experience from today with you. I hope you get your results back soon!!!

Next time tell them to use a butterfly! It is smaller and I think it works better when they change tubes.

The lady who did my blood work was all mad about all of the blood work I was having done at once. It was somewhere around 15 vials or so. She stuck me three times to get it all. Luckily I don't have a needle phobia.

Angel - That sucks that your doc wouldn't even look at your charts. I mean, I understand if they don't get into it or endorse it or anything... but to just blow off all of your efforts to get in touch with your body and educate yourself just seems... crappy. YAY for being blood work buddies!!!

Forest - HOLY CRAP!! Yeah, my doc requested at least 10 different tests! The girl looked over the list and only needed 3 vials... although two of them were freakin' MASSIVE!!!

Yeah it was really discouraging to have him snicker at my saying I brought my charts and to not want to see them.. But hey, if I need a specialist by Feb or March than I'll take em with me again and see what they say about them.

So your doc said they'd contact you with the results of your blood work regardless? Mine said he sees a lot of people so he would only contact me if he found anything, other than that don't expect a phone call... And I'm thinking, well if I knew what all you were testing for that would help me out so I would at least know what all I was in the clear for if I didn't hear back, ya know? Grr!

You know, she didn't say... but I asked her when I could expect the results and she said "Oh they're really quick... so it should only be a few days." I guess I just kinda assumed based on her response that they would go over them with me.

I definitely plan on calling to see if they've gotten them back.
