Hello all! I am Shelley [21], wife to Tavo [23] and momma to Lorena [5 months]. We are not TTC at this time, but I want to begin charting after my first PP AF so that I can figure out what my body is doing.

Now, onto the questions. I have not yet had a PP AF, but last night began having (TMI) really thick mucusy CM. Also, my cervix was low, firm and closed, where the previous 4 days it has been high, soft and slightly open. My question is, does this indicate ovulation, or does this mean ovulation has already taken place? I ask because DH and I DTD unprotected last wednesday, so I am curious as to if there is a chance this indicates a possible pregnancy, or if it indicates ovulation.

Thanks for your help, ladies!

It could indicate ovulation. It is hard to say for sure. Have you been checking your cervix position at the same time each day? The reason I ask is your cervix position can shift throughout the day.

A high, soft and open position is what you would expect to see around ovulation. Then after ovulation it will move to a lower position and feel more firm and closed. So yes, what you are describing could mean that ovulation has occurred.

Since there is really know way to know if you have ovulated if you are not charting, I would recommend taking a test in a couple weeks. I would go ahead and start charting whenever you are ready.
