Hi... I am Bobbie I used to post here for a couple years while I was TTC Matthew. I am now TTC again and have been charting for months without temping.

I decided to attempt to temp for fun. My problem is Matthew wakes up all night long to eat (we co-sleep) so I never get more than an hour of solid sleep in one stretch.

Has anyone else temped in a situation like this? Did you find it to be even remotely worth it?

I know when I O... I can figure that out pretty easy. I just hate looking at a blank chart. I need data!

I am also fighting a bad cold and had a fever for a couple days ...so I have been sleeping with my mouth open. My temps look like a roller coaster ride.

I must be wacko to even bother temping right now... but I actually miss it. When you TTC for soooooo long (took us 8 years to get Matthew) it becomes a part of life. I think TTC is in my blood now... I don't know if I will ever be able to not be TTC. (Shh don't tell Dave... he will think I really am nuts!)

I have a 3.5 month old I am BFing. I never get more than a couple hours straight of sleep b/c I wake up to pee a lot ( I drink a lot ). The week or so I did it, my temps were all over. Super low to super high and everything in between. So I kinda gave up on this month. Plus, I've been having some 100 degree + temps due to being ill.

Maybe I'll try again next cycle and see if it normalizes at all. Blah. I think I'm going to just try OPK's this time.

I started temping when Lyndsey was still nursing. She used to wake me up all the time. Your chart may not be totally accurate but even with the interrupted sleep you should still be able to get an idea of what is going on with your temps.

Glad to see you over here!!!! I hope you will be sticking around. We need some more experienced charters over here!

If you dont' want to be bothered with temping, why not just use a mucus only chart then? That's charting too, it's just a different kind. I've charted while BFing 4 times now, but for TTA (not TTC). Used temps the first few times, tried two different mucus only systems after that.

That sounds like a plan! I use OPK's a lot too Gotta get the "pee on a stick" fix somehow during that time My favorite brand is Answer (dip ...not mid stream)

I am breastfeeding my 19 month old, he is still waking up during the night but I am able to get temps that seem pretty on.
