hi ladies

my daughter wakes up at 2am for a feed. She sometimes then wakes up at 5am or 6 am so i either temp at 5 when she wakes or 6 when she wakes. this morning she was up at 4:30am so i temped then.

i cannot rely on my cm coz it all over the place, my cervix is another story (it was closed and firm when i conceived my dd) so basically temps are all i have to go by when it comes to O.

do these erratic times affect my temp do you think? what do you do?

Have you worked with a charting teacher to understand your CM patterns better?

While charting after all my babies and with night wakers, I temped with the first few and then went to CM only after that. My CM patterns were really confusing too, but I just didn't have any education about how to observe it properly and interpret what it means. After taking a little course and working with a teacher, I discovered how simple it was and what each different kind of CM means for me. It took a few cycles of charting with the teacher to really confident about it.

The temps will only tell that ovulation has occurred after the fact, the CM will give you the advance warning that you're fertile. For the temps, just do your best to temp as close to the same time every morning as you can. Erratic temping times might affect your chart to the point that you can't detect ovulation, or it might not. The only way to know is to try and see how it all works.

Are you TTC now?

I understand. I have PCOS too and many of my clients also have PCOS too. The CM patterns are definitely more complicated than women without PCOS, but it's still possible to learn to understand it. Education just becomes more important for us because it's much more difficult to figure out on our own with such complicated patterns. So if you ever change your mind about a teacher, don't hesitate to ask for help with that. I can find out what charting education resources are available in your area or if an online teacher is your best option.

The central offices are Pretoria, Phaloborwa, and Port Elizabeth. You'd probably have to contact them to find out if they have any teachers in Durban. This is the Pretoria Center email: pmcgregor@sacbc.org.za
