Hi girls...I'm here...just not saying much as I've been feeling pretty badly the last couple of days. I miss you all so much and want to participate, but I just can't seem to muster up the energy to do much beyond read a few posts.

I am SO grateful that this "AF" waited until I was home from New Orleans to start. I started yesterday morning and it is nothing like I'm used to. I'm cramping so badly...which in itself isn't anything new...but this isn't giving up. As soon as Advil wears off the pain comes back pretty badly again. Also I normally know when the heavy bleeding is going to start because that's when my cramps are the worst. I've been having the "heavy bleeding" cramps since yesterday morning and I've still only got a very light flow.

What's really different though is that I am bleeding bright red blood. With a normal AF I don't get bright red blood until the end. It starts off with darker, richer looking blood and after a few days I stop bleeding for a few hours to a day and then bleed the brighter for a day and I'm done. This is really odd that it's been bright red since the beginning.

I keep getting so hot too! I took my temp this morning orally like I normally do and my temp hasn't dropped. I kinda wish it would cause maybe then I could cool off! LOL We have a cold front coming through on Monday and it just can't get here fast enough...

I hope to feel better tomorrow and get more active with posting...but if I don't I'm going to give into this incredible urge to sleep a lot that's been nagging me since I woke up yesterday morning.

My AF's very greatly from one to the next. This one maybe be different for you because of the provera. (At least i believe you said u used provera, correct me if i'm wrong) I also have had weird AF's where my temps didn't drop. Last cycle was a perfect example. I usually wait till AF is over, and then start temping again. I temp vaginally anyway, so temping during AF can be unpleasant.

My AF has been wacked this cycle too. I suspect your AF is like this because of the hormones. You may have a heavy flow this cycle because it has been so long since you shed your lining. I don't know. I haven't used provera before so I am not sure. I am having hot flashes myself. I think your temp may go down once AF starts flowing heavier.

Are you feeling a little more excited about ttc this cycle? I am crossing my fingers that the metformin makes all the difference.

Alice, I did use Provera this cycle so I'm sure that's what's causing all of this...I just wasn't expecting the side effects of it. Especially the part of being so tired. My temp came down some this morning and the bleeding is a bit more...and I'm still temping orally because yeah, temping vaginally while AF is in town just doesn't sound appealing. LOL

Patty, I am feeling more excited...mostly. The only part I'm worried about is if my doctor suggests going on BCP for a few months because I'm going to tell her I don't want to do that and I'm worried that it won't go over well. I would hate that I've gotten started with treatment for whatever is going on and then need to find a new doc if she insists on the pill. We shall see though! Also, now that I am back home I am planning on cracking down on my diet and making sure I exercise each day. I really believe that if I can loose some of this weight that I've gained that half of these problems will go away.

Patty, how many days of injections do you have to do? What happens after that? I've never talked with anyone who's done IFV before so I'm not sure what the steps are and I'm curious...if you don't mind sharing.

I was really tired when I took prometrium so I imagine provera is similar. I think you should just say how you feel to your doctor and let her know that you are working hard on losing weight and improving your diet. I think she may be more likely to work with you if she knows you are taking steps towards getting your bfp on your own. I would just be very assertive and as Nancy Regan used to say "just say no."

As for me, I don't know what I am doing. LOL. I have this calendar so I have an idea but I am kind of taking step by step instructions from the nurse. The calendar says you take the injections till CD15 and do the retrieval on CD15 but CD15 for me is Thanksgiving day. I asked her about that and she said that it is a guide and so I think that I will end up doing my retrieval before or after Thansgiving.

I am just kind of taking it one day at a time and trying to follow her directions. I will keep you all posted. I really need to go update my blog but haven't gotten to it yet.

That's weird because my doctor wanted me to come back to see her 4 weeks after taking the Provera, but that day fell on Thanksgiving Day! Maybe it's a sign for both of us!!

I don't understand the whole BCP thing... when I asked for something to bring on AF my doc said the only thing she could prescribe was BCP... here's the thing, if you have issues or are irregular off BCP, BCP won't fix anything, it will just mask the problem while you're on it! Grrrr to them always thinking BCP is the easy fix
