It just started. I am getting an aura. I can barely see to type this. If I am not around tomorrow it is because I am sick with a migraine. I am hoping I can sleep it off since the headache hasn't started just the aura. I don't like the auras anymore than the headaches.
Anway, I am guessing this is going to be a sucky 3 weeks.

Aww! That's totally sucky! I wish there were another way for you to do this without having to take the BCP. I hope your head gets better soon!

Aw, Patty, that totally sucks!!! I hope your aura got better and the migraine stayed away! Do you have meds for them? If not, can you call and get some? Hope you feel better!

I am up. My head is hurting a little but not as bad as I expected. I am going to take some excedrin right now so hopefully it doesn't get any worse.. If I can catch them right when they start sometimes I can head them off. Usually sleeping helps the most. But I was having a really bad aura last night. If you don't get migraines with auras they are like having blind spots or streaks in your vision. I usually get the aura for about 10 or 20 minutes and then the headache starts. I went to sleep right when the aura started so I think that helped.
Every time I have tried the pill I have gotten migraines like this. I have tried a few of the migraine meds like imitrex and midrin and they didn't do anything for my migraines. Normally, the only time I have them frequently enough to bother me is when I am pregnant. So, I might as well get used to them.
When I first started getting migraines I would go up to ER and get a shot of demerol because they were so bad. I haven't had one that bad in years thankfully.

I hope the headaches get better. Going away would be even better. Headaches are why I originally stopped taking BCP. Not fun.

So much for it staying away. I may just go back to bed. I have a feeling I am going to feel like garbage today. This is not making me happy.

Oh, I'm sorry. Migraines are the worst. I used to get them pretty badly when I was younger. Thankfully I haven't had one since high school. I'm sorry that your migraine hasn't gone away. I hope it subsides soon!

That sucks. Try putting a warm washcloth on your forehead. Sometimes works for my headaches.

Wow, that sucks. I don't respond to Imitrex or Midrin either (and a few others I've tried), during my pregnancy the doctor put me on Vicodin for them. Surprisingly enough it's the only thing that's really helped and I've stuck with it. Have you tried that? Not as potent as the demerol, usually I can take the edge off the pain yet still function on half a tablet.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Oh Patty that sucks! I get aura's with my visual migraines. Usually if I close my eyes in the dark for about 30 minutes right when I first notice it I can stop it in it's tracks! It's even happened to me while driving on the freeway before...sooo scary! I hope you can get used to the bcp and not have to deal with migraines!

I used to have a prescription for vicodin. That is about the only thing that helps me as well. I used to take it with phenergan. I stopped taking it because I didn't like that I was starting to feel addicted to it. And, I started getting rebound headaches when I was taking it.

Yes, that can happen, it's so frustrating when nothing seems to work. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones who gets fewer headaches during your next pregnancy? That would be nice!
