Positive OPK...but...

So I got a nice dark positive OPK this morning...but DH is out of town (was yesterday too) through tonight at like midnight. *sigh* Today is cd 16 for me and I usually O by 14 or 15. Figures that this month he's gone on O day! I don't know if I can be up for BDing at midnight! And won't it be too late anyway??

That is a good question. One that I unfortunately do not have an answer to. I tried googling it but I can't find a site that even estimates how much time you may have from the + OPK to still have a chance. Hopefully someone else will have a better answer for you.

BTW, I just found this. 12-36 hours after a + OPK (approx.) is how long before you O YouTube.

If you can muster it up, I would definitely BD at midnight. Good Luck

Its never too late to BD once you get that + OPK. Just keep at it until your temp rise

I've read & re-read that once you get that + OPK, that O can happen anywhere in the next 24-36hrs. I say go to sleep for a bit & then if you are like me, you will hear DH get into bed even if they try to be quiet and then you just surprise him with a little late night session

I would try to BD tonight and tomorrow. O is usually a bit after a positive opk so you still have some time. My dr told us to bd every day for 3 days after I get a surge.

I agree. I would try to bd today and tomorrow. You can do it!

Everything you read on opks say that you will ovulate 12-36 hours after you detect your surge. But, I have ovulated as late as 4 days after getting a positive opk so I think Cara's doctor's advice is right on. Plus, I have played around using more than one brand of opks and some of them detect your surge earlier than others. I have had some brands that I have gotten a positive on but then not gotten a positive with another brand until a day later. I think you still have time. You haven't had a thermal shift yet so get busy!
