I started spotting today when I use the rest room, would this be considered CD1 or is it the first heavy flow day? AF is due in on the 26th however this is my first cycle off birth control so she may be early

Spotting after BCP is pretty common, I think. And yes, you would count the first day of actual flow as CD 1, not spotting. Good luck!

Spotting doesn't count... only a proper flow.

Best of Luck to you!!!

Yes, spotting doesn't count as cycle day 1. You need to have a flow heavy enough to require a pantyliner.

Here are some posts from our charting school on this.

Wow, all very good info that I was not sure about.

I started spotting yesterday and today was confused if I was still spotting or had started af. I think I'm still spotting (always there when I wipe) and I only had a few drops on a panty liner earlier today. So I went back and changed my cm to spotting after reading all that. thanks for asking the question and thanks to all who answered

Yeah I agree, I always use the first day of real flow.
