Hello Ladies! I'm "new" here...well, I had posted back in the spring, but now SO and I are ready for #$2. We've been NTNP and I was still temping just to see if/when I ovulate. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005, but have conceived naturally twice. This will be the first time we will be dtd with the hopes of making a baby, so I wanted to try out OPK's and see if they work for us. I've read that OPKs don't always work for women with PCOS, but I'm hoping that's not the case for me.
I was hoping to get some input on whether or not I should go ahead and get the real First Response OPKs or should I get some cheapies for this first cycle? I don't want to "waste" my money on the First Response if I'm going to get false results because of my PCOS. Another thing is that I'm not sure when to start using them. I was on peeonastick.com and they had a chart that said to take your shortest cycle in the past six month (for me that would be 29 days) and for that cycle, I would start testing at CD 12, but based on my charts, I have a late O (cd18-23) when I do O. So, I'm looking for some insight please.
I'm actually hoping not to conceive this cycle because my birthday is in 3 weeks, and I would like to celebrate without being in a 2ww. I figured I could use this cycle as a sort of test cycle with the opk's. I've got temping and charting down I think, as long as I'm consistent, but OPK's would be totally new. Any input is greatly appreciated.
TIA!
