I keep waiting for my cross hairs to appear on FF, but so far, nothing. I really want to know my ovulation date. Is it okay to change settings on FF and only use OPK's as your ovulation predictor or should I let it just do it's thing and wait?? Should I keep BDing at this point? Both DH and myself are a little exhausted this cycle...
What do you think? Please tell me you can all see my chart??

I think that FF will give you CH on CD18 if you have a temp tomorrow that is higher than today's temp.

You can have a positive OPK and not ovulate. It just tells you your body is trying to ovulate, but is not a guarantee that it will. FF will give you CH's when you have a thermal shift and I don't see one yet. I wouldn't go by OPK alone, no.
As for BDing, do you notice wet/slippery feelings during the day? If not, you can probably stop. But be sure to BD if you notice wetness or lubrication again, as it will mean your body is attempting ovulation again.

Good point Shawna, I guess we will continue to BD just in case I haven't o'd. I stopped taking the OPK because I had 3 days of fainter or no lines. We are BD'ing every day and have for the last 9 days so it is hard for me to determine my CM situation. I hope my temp continues to rise tomorrow and the rest of the week.

If you're exhausted, every other day is fine for TTC. BDing every day can actually work against your TTC efforts.

I don't think you have o'd yet either. I have a lot of charts where I didn't ovulate right after my opk. I know that they say you should ovulate a day after a positive opk but I have several where it took 2 or 3 days and one chart where it took longer than that. Here is a link to my charts.
18828 Ovulation Charts
Here is my bfp chart.

I didn't bd on my o date and still got pregnant.
Here is another chart where I didn't ovulate right away.
If you feel up to bding go for it but if you are tired, it is okay to take a day off. You have done a lot of bding so I am sure there will be plenty of sperm there to meet your little egg.

Patty,
thank you for sharing some of your charts that show what you are trying to explain to me.
I hope I am not being redundant about this. Regarding your first chart, I am still confused to why you didn't actually ovulate earlier based on both your temp and +OPK. Does FF determine ovulation when your temp rises above the highest temp before your ovulation dip? You had three rising temps before Oing...
I thought that FF determined based Oing on the first day your temp rises as long as it continues to do so. So, in your case, I would of thought you O'd on day 15. Can you explain why you didn't until day 18?
Thanks in advance, I really want to understand this!

I don't use FF's advanced setting a lot. I learned to chart using the fertility awareness method so I use the Fertility Awareness Method setting with FF (not always but I did with these charts).
The FAM uses the three over six rule.
Fertility Awareness Method (FAM)
So before they would mark you as ovulating you would need to see three temps that were above your previous six temps. So if you look at my temp on CD15 and then look at the previous six temps, you can see my temp on CD15, 16 and 17 was still in the same range as my last six preo temps. I didn't have a temp that was higher than my previous preo temps until CD18. Basically what you want to see is that your post o temps are above your preo temps.
I will be honest, on this particular chart I have gone back and forth on what my o date was. This was the cycle I got my bfp. I was pregnant with twins that cycle and I think it is possible that your pick on my o date could be correct. I actually got what could have been a bfp that cycle on CD22 or 24. I can't remember for sure what day it was but I chalked it up to an evap because it was on a cheapie and I got a bfn on all my other brands. But, now that I know I was pregnant with twins (one was in the uterus and one was in my tube) I suspect that one could have implanted earlier than the other. Since it was a wierd cycle I think it is possible that I had a slow temp rise because of my pregnancy implanting in my tube and it is possible that my o date was the earlier date but the date I have marked fits best with the FAM.
I probably should have picked a less confusing chart to use as an example.

Okay, it is becoming clearer now. I will just have to wait out these next few days and see what my temps do. I'm sure if I were just a little more patient, my chart wouldn't be so confusing. I guess I am just wondering if we should still bd and the overall consensus seems to be "yes" so we will continue!
I can't help but think that maybe you are right and I am going to o later than I thought. Maybe that is why we haven't been successful yet, we are quitting too early!
Thanks for your help Patty!

Patty, I finally got my CH! Hopefully, my temps stay up and I get that BFP! I am going to TRY TRY TRY to not test until next Friday which will be 13 DPO so I don't have the same faint line business that I had last cycle. If you remember, I actually got b/w done because I was late. Anyway, thanks for walking me through charting 101, I hope that my chart stays nice and easy for the next 2 weeks, lol!

FF gives the solid red CH when you're 3 DPO
