So I got a thermometer a few days after my cycle this month.. And started charting it and keeping stats.. DH and I aren't quite ready to TTC but I want to be ready when we do. I'm coming off BCP and I know my body's probably out of wack but it just seems like my temps are WAY all over the place! Is that normal??

Ovulation Tracker - appleofdanielseye's Tracker - MedHelp

I have a chart on FF too but I can't seem t figure out how to show it t you guys w/o paying for FF. So I found this one that I hope you all can see.. let me know what you thinkand if you have any tips feel free to share!

You should be able to share your FF chart with the free version. You may need to check your privacy settings under Home Page Set Up.

Glad to have you on the board!! Can't wait to start stalking your chart!

i would assume that its normal with getting off BCP, as for FF, you should be able to share your chart link with or without paying for the VIP access.you can find your link..
1.) log into FF
2.) see the menu on the left? put your cursor on "sharing"
3.) a little menu will pop out on the side click "Home Page Setup"
4.) your link is in a box.

make sure you read that whole page and figure out the things you want on your page, etc.

i hope this helps GL

As for your crazy up and down temps, are you temping at the same time every day after 3 hours of solid sleep? And are you temping orally? If so, do you breathe through your mouth at night?

What kind of thermometer are you using? I think something went funny with that really low temp. It takes a cycle or so to get the hang of it, but once you do it is easy.

im not an expert on charting but i dont think your chart looks that crazy. i saw what looked like an ovulation dip/rise pretty clearly...
i think as long as you follow the guidlines like temping at same time each day you should be able to get a pretty good tracking of your temos

I'm using a BBT thermometer (digital oral) that I got from the pharmacy. IDK if I breathe through my mouth at night but I suppose I do? As for the exact time each day no. I wake up around 7ish m-f and 8/9ish on sat/sun. I just thought that as long as it was taken before I got up it was ok? anyways.. thanks so much for the advice, I'm new and feeling a little lost. Don't want to mess up, but I know since it's my first cycle and first off of BCP it was going to be weird.. however the spikes and stuff didn't look 'normal' to me..

Temping pretty close to the same time is important. Usually within half an hour to an hour is OK, but more than that will give you a pretty crazy chart that isn't very useful. If you do mouth breath you may want to try temping vaginally next cycle.

Have you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It is really good for charting.

You need to try to temp at the same time every day. I would be that is why your chart is all over the place. For every hour later you sleep your temp will go up by approximately .2 degrees so two hours extra could make your temp go up by .4 degrees and really throw off your chart. What I do on the weekends is set my alarm, temp and go back to sleep.

I don't think you have ovulated yet. You are still having a lot of fertile cm and your cm normally will dry up after you ovulate. I would use your cm as your guide for now until you start temping more consistently at the same time.

Ok, good advice! I'll have to set the alarm on the weekends from now on... And as for CM I'm usually pretty 'wet' down there from two weeks before AF until a few days before.. is that just normal for me? Or should I be concerned? I didn't think I would ovulate this month with the whole getting off BCP..
