Here's my chart:
2b11d9 Ovulation Charts

I'm new to charting and not really sure what to make of it.

I've had a couple days where I have taken my temp later than usual...could that be what is throwing me off?

Or am I just crazy and I have a normal chart?

Any insight would be great!

Welcome to charting

It is advised that you take your temp at the same time every day, I'm not sure what happens or how it might affect your chart by taking the temp later.
Do you know how long your cycles are on average? If you have a cycle that is over 28 days it can take a while longer to O. Are you using OPK's at all, they can be helpful with letting you know if your getting ready to ovulate.

Thanks for the quick response!

I'm unsure of my cycle legnth, but I think they are pretty standard and around 28 days.

Not using any OPK's at the moment.

Taking your temp later can effect your temp up to 0.2 degrees per extra hour of sleep, so your open circle temps could be higher than what they would have been if you had taken them at your regular time.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Charting!! I apologize for not getting to this sooner, I was doing the whole drive around and find the perfect Christmas Tree thing!

Let me say first that I think your chart looks pretty normal for Pre-Ov temps. Temps can be pretty erratic during your Pre-Ov phase... they can go way up and drop way down, so don't get yourself worried over that. Your temps seem to be fluctuating within a very normal range.

Tammy is correct. If you temp later than your usual time, your temp will generally be higher than it normally would have been and vice versa for temping earlier than normal. Any time you take a temp outside of your default temp time, FF will assign that temp an "Open Circle". In this way, it stands out in the event it's a really weird temp, you will see the open circle and remember the circumstances that caused it.

You aren't at an especially late CD (cycle day) to be waiting to O. Your ovulation day can and does fluctuate from one month to the next. I've O'd as early as CD 12 and as late as CD 16. This month is throwing me some curveballs, so I may have even more weird stuff to add to my arsenal.

But the point is, there can be great fluctuation in both temps and O day. The main thing to remember is that you are looking for a pattern and not individual temps. You kinda want to step back and look at it, almost the way you do with certain paintings... if you look too closely, it all looks screwy... but once you step back, the picture is perfectly clear...? It's the same thing.

Once you're to the point where you've O'd, FF has give you CH (cross hairs) and a CL (cover line) you'll be able to see the phases and patterns much more clearly. Right now you are still in the earlier phase of your cycle, so there's not much to be seen as far as patterns go.

I truly hope you'll stay with us here on the board and we can watch as your cycle progresses and help with any other questions you may have!!

again... we're happy to have you!!

Welcome to the board! I think your chart looks fine but agree with the others on your temp time needing to be more consistent. My guess is that is why you are seeing the fluctuations.

Since you are still having fertile cm you probably haven't o'd yet. Once you ovulate not only does your temp go up but your cm will dry up as well. So I think you just need to wait a bit longer to see your shift/ o date.
