My husband and I attended our niece and nephew's baptisms on Saturday. At the after party, we spent most of the time holding our 5 month old nephew, passing him back and forth. Our friend Amy who has 5 year old twins, came over to talk to us. She asked us if we were still trying. She was encouraging, explained how she had struggled for 7 years to get her girls. She said that she could imagine how hard it was for me to have lived quietly through my SIL's pregnancy while we were suffering from infertility. She encouraged us to go on with getting medical assitance.
When we got home, my DH immediately looked at me and said very seriously, "We need a baby in our home by this time next year. What can we do to make this happen?" It's very strange to see how much he's changed in the last 2 years. He went from being unsure of starting a family, to completely desperate for a child.
So yesterday I finally called and got the ball rolling. I don't know why I was piddling around for so long anyway. I talk big about what I want to do, but I never do anything. I think I just thought a "miracle" would happen, and we wouldn't need the help. I mean... we got pregnant before. My doc is going to try to get me in for an HSG next week, and she's sending a requisition in the mail for DH to get an SA.
I'm suddenly really excited about it all. I know there's no magic bullet to motherhood, but suddenly it feels almost in reach.

Great news !! I think my DH had a little lightbulb go off in his head with this whole issue too (granted, I had to help probe him in order to make that happen) but it sure is exciting !!!! I also had the same take as you, just drug my feet hoping that something would happen. Yay for us & everyone else taking charge

Awww Alice!! That's so great!!

I know just how you feel. Now that I've been to the doc, had everything come back perfectly fine and now have my Clomid just to give us an extra boost... I feel much more excited now.

I'm very excited for YOU now!!!
