This is my first time with OPKs. I've read a lot of information about how to read them and when to test and such, but I'm still a bit confused. I typically ovulate later than CD 16, but I've started testing on CD 10 so I can get used to what to do and such. I didn't expect to see such noticeable lines this early, so now I'm kind of questioning my judgment. I think today's test (CD 12) looks very nearly positive, and I'm experiencing some major breast tenderness-- something I don't typically get except in the 2WW. Nothing seems to be doing its normal thing, so now I'm kind of going goofy about what's happening with ovulation at the moment.

My question is -- does this look close enough to positive to expect ovulation relatively soon, i.e. amp up the BDing? Or am I not really going to know if it'll get a lot darker than the control line until after my first round of seeing my own OPKs? I would love to get it right the first time. I appreciate your help, gals!

and inverted, if it helps...

I would say today's is pretty much almost positive, if it's not already. Most people say if ANY of the test line is as dark as, or darker than, the control line, the test is positive. It looks the the edge of the line is dark.....but that could be my computer too. I would BD to make sure. If you usually O on CD 16 then this is about the right time anyways, I guess a couple days early, but most people I don't think O on the exact same day every cycle. Hope this helped!

Yes, I agree. I always start Bding early since they are not fool proof anyway. If it is close, I would go ahead and start BDing until the line isn't there anymore or extremely faint. Light the candles! Have fun, lol!

It's def close to +, do you have enough that you can test more than once a day? You can miss your surge if only testing once every 24 hours, it could be + by tonight or tomorrow morning so I'd def BD over the next couple days! Good luck

Thanks, everyone!

I do have enough to test twice a day, and I was planning to do another one tonight around 8. I think that will be a good time since my earlier one today was at 12. Work makes it tough to be on a schedule with these things. Needing to drink water often for good-quality CM is also tough... how the heck am I supposed to wait around 4 hours to pee?!?
