As the subject line says, I'm brand new to charting. I just have a couple questions.

When I was reading some of the info papers that came with my BBT, it said using electric blankets can raise the body's temp. Do any of you use an electric blanket, and does it mess with your charting? If I can't use my blanket, then I won't be charting until Spring!!

I have only started trying to get pg in Oct. We were successful, but then lost it. So, right now, I'm still waiting for my cycle to restart, etc. Will my starting to chart now "mess" anything up? If anything, I'm really just kinda "practicing" right now. Any tips?

I thought I had another question, but I'm blanking right now. If I remember it, I'll update and ask! lol

Thanks!
Jennifer

as far as i read, you can use the electric blanket just make note of it also keep it at a consistant temp.

the only thing i can advise is,
*Make sure you have a 3 hour block sleep
*Take your temp. before ANY movements
*have a piece of paper and bbt therm by your night stand
*Note any events that may interfere with your temp. on that CD.
* Make sure you take your temp at a consistant time.
* Temping during AF is optional(but i temp each day)

Thanks SSgt! I kinda thought to myself that as long as the blanket is always on and consistent temp, my temp should be consistent.

Your tips made me think of other questions:

When you say before any movements, are we talking getting up and walking around type stuff? Or are you saying ANYTHING? In general, how do you ladies actually temp?

My thermometer has a memory thing. Maybe I can take advantage of that...I'm thinking this could be my routine:
1- alarm goes off. 2 - I reach over and "snooze" it. 3 - Get thermometer and take temp (in dark). 4 - go back to sleep?. Once I am up, awake and moving, I'll record my temp. If not, does turning on the light/turning off alarm/ moving cat out of my way too much movement?

Also, what is the time frame/window? Within the same hour? Within the same 15 minutes? With the holidays approaching, how do you handle sleep inconsistencies? (I know I'll be at least 2 different places at some point, with possible sucky sleep.)

Would that work? Are there any other suggestions?
