Hi again everybody!

I have been doing my BBT for a couple days now....but have just realized I may have run into a slight problem. I've been doing some research online and it says sleeping with your mouth open can affect BBT and should be avoided. I've been sleeping with my mouth open for as long as I can remember!. So of course the past couple days, my mouth has been open.

I am able to do it vaginally, but I also read that you should insert it the same distance every night....and I'm not sure I can do that half asleep.

Does anybody have any advice or suggestions?. I thought I was doing really good but now my temperatures may be WAY off since I sleep with my mouth open.

If I do start doing it vaginally, can I do it orally the past couple days and then vaginally from now on?, or should I wait until my next cycle?. I am currently on the end of my period (it's starting to taper off). I started charting the day my period began (which was the 12th). I know some of you mentioned that alot of people don't chart their BBT while on their period so it should be okay, but I'm kind of confused on how to do it then cause I always read to start on the first day of your period.

I would really like to start doing it vaginally but i'm not so sure that I'm comfortable while doing it when I'm on my period. So if I can do it off my period, how do you go about it?. Is it just the sa

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! . Thank you so much in advance for your help!

ETA: Here is my chart so far: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/i...hp?interface=0

I don't know if it will tell you too much, but I thought to add it just incase it can

I had the same situation going with mouth breathing. I started temping vaginally mid-cycle last month (seems like it was JUST before ovulation) because I really just didn't care... but it was apparent that it changed my temps some.

Since you're just ending AF, you're good to go to start temping vaginally-- it won't make that much of a difference. Just start tomorrow morning and you will notice a bit higher temps, but since it's too early to ovulate, make sure you can see a bit of a pattern in your lower temps so that you will notice your temp spike. It'll be a lot more obvious because your temperatures should be more accurate vaginally. Good luck!

PS-- I know for a fact I don't pay attention to how far I put the thermometer in, and I haven't noticed any difference in temps.

I'm not experienced at all in temping vaginally but if you start tomorrow it will be fine. Most women's temps are erratic during AF anyways, and then start to stabilize afterwards gearing towards O.
Oh, btw, the link to your chart actually brought me to my own so I couldn't see your temps.
Good luck!

Thank you so much for both of your replies!. I think I am going to start charting vaginally from now on.

This may sound like a stupid question, but.... Can I sleep with underwear on? or will that cause too much movement to get an accurate reading by taking it off to insert the thermometer?

Yes, I sleep w/ underwear on and temped vaginally..........just slide it over and insert the thermometer.........I know I was uneasy at first too but it's not really a science, just stick it in and wait for the beep....haha

Ha ha! Yep, that's pretty much all there is to it! No need to worry about sleeping with or without clothing and yes, you can start vaginal temping now. Don't worry about putting it in the same amount each day...that won't make any difference...just make sure that you are getting the entire tip inserted.

I'm waiting for AF to get here (unless I get a BFP first!!) so that I can start vaginal temping as well. I have been finding myself mouth breathing more and more again, so I think the oral temping is way off for me lately.

I had this issue, temping vaginally fixed it. I don't pay attention to any details about how I do it or anything. 5:15am is too early to care.
