I cover up my clock at night because it's really bright and I have a hard time sleeping. I generally take my temperature between 5 and 6 am but sometimes I wake up early and take my temp because I don't know what time it is.
So I woke up last night and took my temp. I was thrilled to see it all the way up at 98.8! I peeked at the time and it was only about 2:30. I went back to bed and woke up closer to the time I usually take my temp, 5:45. I was upset to see that it was only 97.6. All the other times I've done this I haven't noticed more than a couple tenths of a degree difference and today it was 1.2 degrees. Why such a huge difference?
I would love to say it's implantation since I'm only 8 dpo but I'm still nursing so I think I'm just going to have a short LP.

If you took it at 2:30 it would be quite a bit earlier than your normal temp time. That is probably why it was so off.

When I was bfing my luteal phase was a bit shorter too. That will get better once your little one isn't nursing as frequently.

I know that taking it at different times can cause it to be different, but for me, I haven't noticed more than 0.3 degree difference before. It was a HUGE drop this time.

Send a message via Skype™ to Miss. Impatient Bevis
is there a way that you can post a link to your chart so we can take a look?

I often end up taking multiple temps like that and that kind of temp difference between 2-3am and 5-6am is totally normal for me personally. In fact, I've had it change .25 in just an hour and a half.

Yeah, it was a huge drop and it has me confused. I don't feel like AF is coming though. I don't want to get my hopes up for an implantation dip though. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow's temp looks like.

as much as I don't like it either ... waiting appears to be the only way to know for sure.
