This is my first month charting BBT and I am wondering when the temp drops back to coverline is it before AF is supposed to arrive, or not until she actually arrives? I am on CD 26 and my cycles are usually 26-28 days. I tested this morning and got a BFN although it was with SMU. My temps are still high though and I am wondering when I will see a drop? Will it be gradual, or sudden drop?
Hope some of you ladies here in the fertility charting board will have some insight for me, thanks!!!

it really depends on your body. some girls see a gradual drop and some see it on the day AF comes, and some even see a drop the day after AF arrives.

I usually have a sudden drop and AF shows the same day.

I agree. I have had some cycles where my temps start dropping a day or two before she arrives, other cycles it dropped the day she showed and I have even had some where my temp went up the day she arrived and then dropped the next day.

There isn't a real firm rule on this.

This was my first cycle charting as well. I noticed my temp drop and I started spotting the next day.

Thanks ladies! Lots of great answers. I agree that it probably varies from cycle to cycle and woman to woman. I don't even know if I'm getting accurate temps because I get up like 2 or 3 times a night anyway with my dd. But I guess as long as there was a block of sleep it should still be ok.

I'm like Patty... I've had what seems to be every possible variation in temps leading up to AF. It made me crazy at the time because I was totally confused though!

And as long as you've had 3 consecutive hours of sleep before temping... you should be good.

it took me i'd say 4 cycles to get a real understand of my cycles, in my personal experience it would be just a sudden drop of temp and i knew that wench is coming. Good Luck honey! Baby Dust to you!
