Just interested if anyone has tried Soya Isoflavones and if so did you notice any charting differences?

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

I haven't, but I remember Alicenwonderland tried them recently. Hopefully she will see this post and can answer your question.

Hi there, I used Soy last cycle. I used 160mg on CD2-6 and took them at night just in case there would be any side affects. You can look at that chart in comparison to my chart from the previous cycle and see that it didn't seem to do much. Now it may be total coincidence but the cycle following my soy cycle (this one), I O'ed 13 days earlier! So look at my charts and maybe that will give you an idea, if you have any specific questions about how it went then let me know.. I know when I decided to take it I couldnt hardly find anyone that had much thought on it or that had tried it themselves.

Good lucK!!

i tried them a couple cycles ago. It gave me a large ovarian cyst that was very painful. My luteal phase didn't even lenthen at all. I don't reccomend it. I feel that any use of estrogen increasing meds should be under the supervision of a doctor. I learned my lesson.

Wow Alice, that is terrible. I guess I got lucky and didn't have it affect me at all... It's such a hard call because I read some really good things about it helping the O time. Thanks for sharing your experience with it, that will help me decide if I was going to try it again later!

I used them this cycle and I haven't O'd yet so they didn't do anything for me.

Alice the soy actually caused the cyst?? How is that possible? I'm curious about this because I've been having some weird pains this cycle on my right side just below my hip. I find it's most aggravated when driving for some reason. This started for me before I started taking the soy, but if they can cause cysts I'm wondering if I had something going on and it's made it worse?

I know the soy increases estrogen. I got a thermal shift, but had a nagging pain under my left hip. A coupel days after "o" I was hospitalized for a kidney stone. After my ct scan, the ER doc said, yes you have a stone and wow but you have a large cyst on your left ovary. I reported it to my ob, and she thinks that i didn't release the egg. Of course I think i have a cyst this cycle too, and didn't do the soy.

Hmmm, thats a shame about the cyst Alice...although you can't say for sure that it was caused by the Soy and not something that would have happened without it anyways?

I'd agree about using these things under DR supervision...except my docs haven't been helpful. I was ttc my first daugher 16mths and this second time its been 2years and 8mths. When I went to the docs this August they told me to go away and come back in 6 mths time (ie Feb) and thats AFTER my blood test showing I have low progesterone. One (out of two docs I've seen) said I don't ovulate at all based on my progesterone (even though I concieved and miscarried two years ago) and yet I get + opks and chart. Both said 'look on the bright side, your still young at 30 and managed to get pregnant twice, even though one ended in miscarriage.'
Funny...cos I don't feel young or lucky! Two pregnancies, one ending in MC, in 6 years doesn't seem like a good record to me!
