Hi Everybody!

I had "creamy" cervical mucus on CD14, EWCM on CD 15, and "creamy" cervical mucus on CD16. The day I had the EWCM it was ALOT!. This may be sort of TMI so forgive me in advance but it was coming out in globs and I had it pretty much all day!. Well the thing I'm concerned about is after the "creamy" cervical mucus on CD16, I have been completey dry since. I am getting NO cervical mucus at all and I have a very dry feeling down there. I read on FF that you get the EWCM around the time ovulation should occur....and you start becoming "dry" again after ovulation has already occured.

Is it possible I am not going to ovulate this month? or is it possible that I ovulated and it was not detected?. Here is my chart:

97ccc Ovulation Charts

Also, I have VERY irregular cycles. I have been charting my cycles for the past two months (only BBT charting since December 12th though). My first cycle was 31 days and my next cycle was 49 days. My period finally showed up after the 49 days on December 12th. My period began on October 23rd and then didn't show up again until December 12th. I had taken numerous pregnancy tests at home and even went to my doctors office on December 9th for an annual and they did a pregnancy test there as well....they all came out negative everytime. I have always had irregular cycles since my period first began. I actually had to have my period started for me. I was having horrible cramps....horrible! (I even had to go to the ER for how painful they were) but the bleeding just wasn't starting. Since my period first began it has still been very very painful and VERY heavy!. I go through tons of pads everyday and even have to sleep with two of them, front to back, at night when I sleep AND get up 2-3 times a night to change. I always knew I was irregular but I guess I never knew exactly how irregular they were until now.

Should I call my doctor now that I am charting and see if there is anything they can do to get me on more regular cycles?. We are not going to start TTC until May 2010 so I have some time, but I'm really intrested on getting into a normal cycle before actively TTC in a few months if possible.

It's just making it really hard when I have no idea what is going on. Is my period gonna show up?, is it going to be late again?, am I ovulating every month?, etc.....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hi there! Looking at your chart, I don't think you've O'd yet. You can get EWCM at other times during your cycle besides when you O...like for instance if your body geared up to O, but then it didn't happen, you can get EWCM.

I have a couple of questions for you. Were you previously on a BCP? Have you ever been checked for PCOS? I ask because it takes sometimes up to a year off of BCP before your cycle regulates. But also, if you have always had irregular cycles it may be possible that PCOS is the reason. It will cause the wacky and super long cycles. (Trust me I know, my last was 90 days!) If you haven't recently come off of BCP I would contact your doctor to find out what's going on. That way if you do have PCOS, you have time to treat it before you begin TTC again.

Thank you so much for your response!.

The last time I was on BCP was February 2006. I went off of them at the end of February so we could start TTC after our wedding which was in March 2006. I did however have my IUD removed in September.

I have actually never been tested for PCOS. Is it something to possibly look into?.

You're welcome! And yes, I would ask about PCOS. It's not something you are born with, it develops over time, so it's possible to have it now and not have had it previously. Some signs of PCOS are hair loss, facial hair growth, weight gain (easy to gain, hard to lose), irregular menstrual periods, excessive cramping during AF, and clotty blood being passed. There are other things, but these are the ones that are generally most noticed.

A lot of women are now making "preconception appointments" with their doctors...this would be a good way to get in to find out what's going on so that you are all set when the time comes to TTC.

Michelle couldn't have explained things better.

As I was reading, I was planning to suggest the same thing. I thought PCOS might be causing you a problem. I have it myself... albeit a very mild case. My cycles are regular at 27 days, but I've got the hair growth in places it shouldn't be, my skin has broken out horribly which is another symptom...

If that is the case, there are all sorts of things you can do to take care of it though... from diet and exercise to medications you can take. Basically, it's not the worst news in the world, just a bump in the road.

I'm no expert but to me it does look like you maybe O'd .. like .. yesterday or the day before .. maybe .. that would make sense because many times people don't O until a couple/few days after their fertile CM has disappeared. Not sure if that will cause a problem with trying to catch the egg or not. Only the next couple of days will confirm that though with some steady high temperatures (if it stays up there rather than coming back down again).

Your chart is looking hot! If tomorrows temp is up there too I'd be expecting to see cross hairs in the morning

It looks to me like you probably O'd on CD18. I've noticed my CM sometimes dries up a few days before I ovulate, as well.
