Just had to share this...I really dont have too many strangers ever ask me much about the whole TTC thing but today when I went to walmart to buy my pack of OPK's the checkout gal did make me kinda smile She said "oh congrats, are you excited to test?" (I think she thought it was a preggo-test) I said "yes, i always get excited to see that positive, but its just for my ovulation...she kinda looked at me weird, but I just went on & said "I am going to get preggo sometime, with it being a new year I'm certain it will happen".....then blah blah blah, she kept wanting to ask ?'s but luckily it was time to check-out & me be on my merry little way ....

I'm always amazed at how into your business complete strangers are willing to get when they see a pregnancy (or in your case O test) in hand. It's like they think that because it's apparent that you have had sex, that everything is free game. LOL

Yeah, I always actually hate going to the store to buy tests only because I don't want to have those types of conversations with the checkout people

A few cycles ago i was at Target getting some pregnancy test and the check out girl in the line i happen to go in was pregnant. She started complaining about getting pregnant and how she never wanted to see one of those tests again because she was only 22 and now she has to have a baby. I was so upset because i acutally want a baby and she just kept complaining about it. I almost left in tears.

Your cashier probably didn't know what to say! I bet she was totally confused about an OPK vs. an HPT. LOL

My husband went to pick up a test once at Walgreens (long story short...I was having a m/c and he didn't want to believe that we really lost the baby so he thought I should test again) and the lady at the checkout asked if "it was planned or unplanned and what he hoped the result of the test would be". Yeah, totally an inappropriate time to ask that. He had no idea what to say.

i once told someone i had just lost my baby...she asked what was up with all of the tests...well, that's whats up. She handled it relatively gracefully i'd say. I guess the lesson that should be learned is people should probably just scan it like they do ice cream. I mean its not like they analyze the other items in your cart!!

See, if I was a cashier I would never bring things up like that. This is the very reason that I only use the self check out at Walmart when I have tests of any kind

For real. Don't people have any common sense? Nobody wants to hear a cashier's comments when you are buying pregnancy tests, condoms, tampons or anything else related to "down there" business!

Way back when I used to work at Target and would occasionally cashier. I NEVER once said anything to anyone about anything they bought that was personal like that. Weird.

I'm lucky that, around here, if you mention something about what the customer is buying, and that customer complains, you could lose your job.

So most smart-ish employees won't say a thing
