so i am almost 100% that i have not ovulated yet. i have had heavy spotting/ light bleeding for the last 3 days, pretty sure it is just a mid cycle bleed??????
if i put it into FF as light bleeding FF says i have started a new cycle.

Should i record it as spotting with a note or as light bleeding? if i do light bleeding i am on CD 4 if i say spotting i am on CD 29 Help this is my first month with full charting and not sure how i should record this....

Oh ya i am only in my second cycle after having my Paraguard IUD removed that i had for almost 9 years.

How long was your last cycle? If you last cycle was about the same length then chart it as light. You may not be Oing. It's probably going to take your body a couple of months to get it's self back on track after having the IUD for so long.

If you cycle was different last time then, I'm thinking chart it as spotting for now.. but if it gets heavier then change it.

edited.. because I can't spell :-)

my last cycle was 31 days so if i count it as my period then this cycle would only be 25 and if i leave it as spotting then it would end up being a long cycle. Eally i just want it to be over.

If you last cycle was 31... then I'm thinking this might be leading up to AF arriving because you are already at CD29. Give it until CD31 to make the call.. if it gets Heavier then that day would be CD 1 if not then the heaviest day of the spotting might be CD1..

IMHO.. you are having an anovulatory cycle.

BUT I could very well be wrong. I would love to see what everyone else has to say..

Mid-cycle and bleeding related to ovulation *can* be heavy enough to mistake for a period. Unfortunately, FF makes you start a new cycle if you have more than spotting - but it's actually not a new cycle if ovulation hasn't been confirmed yet. It's mid-cycle bleeding. It could be related to rising estrogen because your body is preparing to ovulate. Other charting programs let you keep mid-cycle bleeding on the same chart, FF won't. You can trick FF by marking it as spotting even though you know it was more. If you do ovulate with the bleeding, you'll need the previous temps to confirm the thermal shift. Mid-cycle bleeding is potentially fertile!
