does this mean my chart isnt accurate. Sometimes i dont get the 3 hours in a row( i mark that as sleep deprived). I know ive mentioned this before but there are 2 days a week that i wake a hour early and i adjust the temps. Im worried that if i get a night without the 3 hours that happens to be on the day i get up early and have to adjust its going to make my chart super inaccurate.
I know i should scrafice and get up at the same time each day but sleep is hard to come by and if i get up at 530 each day and try to go back to sleep i wont be able to. I guess if my chart sucks this month ill have to get up at the same early time next cycle ugg. sorry for the complaining, this temping is much more than i thought it would be.

I am curious what you mean by adjust your temperature. FF is built in to handle temps that are off because of earlier wake up times once in a while. If you enter in the exact time you take your temp and the exact reading every day, still marking when you are sleep deprived it uses linear regression to take all that into account.

I get up at 6am for work. On the weekends I leave my alarm on if I am on the verge or Oing or AF. When the alarm does off DH makes sure I heard then shuts it off. I take my temp, turn the thermometer off and go back to bed. WHen I wake up later the temp is on there when I turn it on. so most days i dont have a problem

I use a BBT adjuster from Wheres my baby.com that someone on JM recommended. Since its a hour difference it usually adjusts it .2 degress( if i woke up and it was 97.10 it would say it should have been 97.30 if i woke at the correct time.) does FF do something like this as well because when i input my temp it just says what time did i do it? Im confused.

Fertility friend wont show you how it is doing the calculations. If they consider it enough of a time difference then it shows on your chart as an open circle. Within their secret statistical way of calculating things it knows to take the time change into consideration, I would assume with something similar to confidence interval, when interpreting your chart in order to suggest the O date.

For example. Me again, I slept in yesterday until 7:30 and took my temp then. I entered the time as 7:30 and the temperature just as it was (98.4 I think it was) BUT because I took it early my circle for that day is open and there is likely something in the calculating that says the temperature at 6:00am would likely have been between 97.9 and 98.5 (as an example) and they can use that range to do their calculations. My whole hearted suggestion would be that if this cycle doesnt work out, I would chart next cycle exactly as it is, temps times and temps and everything and see what happens. FF is designed for variation and inconsistency.

I was about to say something pretty similar.

You won't see a physical change to your chart, other than the open circle. But when it comes time for FF to figure out your O day and Cover Line, it will take those outlying temps into account.

Try not to get yourself too worked up about this. Just take your temps as consistently as you can, enter the information truthfully and give FF a chance to do what it does.

There are lots of ladies here who have seriously erratic waking times... (night working nurses, etc) and they are all able to see their thermal shift without any trouble.

I really hope that helps...

This is what I would do. I don't use the temp adjusters because I find that they mess up my chart. I think you get a more accurate chart if you leave your temps alone and just use open circles to keep track of days that they could be a little off.

You should still be able to see when you ovulate even if you don't always wake at the same time. I would just make sure you are charting all of your fertile signs so you have other clues to help you interpret your chart.
