We have been ntnp since our son turned 3 months (for 3 months now) and we just decided to ttc. My son does not sleep through the night, I have not have a pp AF yet, and I just stopped breast feeding. I decided to try and use opks (ic) to see if I am ovulating. I know so far they have all bee negative, for two weeks now. Most of them have the same faint line. Is that normal?

Just so you know, I take them at 2pm every day, try to hold me pee for 2+ hours and not drink too much around testing time.

**Update**

I read to try testing more than once a day. I usually have a hard time holding my pee for too long, so I just tested again this evening. I had not peed for 2 hours or so. The lines are almost identical IRL. They have never even been close to this color. Do you think this is pos, or about to be?

Sorry pic sucks. This is the best I can do at night with my phone.

Yes, it's normal to have a faint line on the OPKs b/c your body produces some LH throughout your cycle, but the surge only happens just before you ovulate.

Have you been charting your BBT or CM? Charting has been very helpful to me since I quit BFing and started ovulating again.

Thanks for your reply!

I don't keep track of my CM, but I have not had cm that looked like I was going to ovulate for some time.

I'm going to search the house for my basal thermometer because I think Wes is sleeping long enough that I can get a good reading.

I got pregnant on my first cycle with him, so most of this is new to me.

i dont know too much but here is what i think. I think your timing for OPKs is good. I think it might take a while to get your first PP AF after stopping BFing. You might not O before your first AF though.

I imagine with Wes not sleeping through the night. after your first af you might want to try temping just to see what happens

good luck

Thanks. BTW, I love your son's name. I wanted to name Wesley lawrence, but it sounds too much like my name (Lauren).

this sounds normal to me. It sounds like you havn't begun to ovulate yet. Usually this is a sign that your body isn't quite ready yet, though it could be at any time. I encourage you to track your bbt and check for cm. Continuing to use OPK's can be expensive. The easier way would be to wait until you get your first PP AF.

I got a Depo shot the day after I had him (never again!). Anyways, when I was on Depo before, I did not have a period. So it would be normal for me not to have one for some time. That's why I figured trying to chart might be a good idea.
