Hi everyone,
Please look at my chart, I'm confused. I just got another +OPK, this makes it the third day in a row. The first was a weak positive (the test line was as dark as the control line), yesterday's was strong, and today's was strong as well - the test line is very dark and I can hardly see the control line. All three were taken with FRERs.

In the past I only ever got 2 days of + OPKs. I don't know if I should BD again tonight. We BDd the night before last, and I WANTED to yesterday because I thought I Od yesterday (got painful nipples in the evening like the last three cycles after O) but DH wasn't into it. I had a temp rise this morning but not a very strong one..

What do you think from my chart and OPKs? Should I try to BD again tonight or do you think I've Od already? I'm mad at DH about last night, so not really in the mood.. but I can disguise it as make up sex!!

I was reading on another board. One of the gals was discussing her opks with her doctor and he said the First Response tests were too sensitive. If I were you I would start using the internet cheapies instead. They are cheaper and I think they are more accurate. I think the First Response opks detect are too sensitive and detect your surge too early. I would use your cm as a guide and just try to bd until you start feeling dry.

Edited because I am looking at your past chart. You may have ovulated. You seem to have a fall back rise pattern. If you are still feeling wet or having fertile cm I would keep bding.

Thanks Patty. We did manage to BD tonight.. so at least I won't be wondering "what if" if I don't get a BFP. I also thought that FRERs are a little on the too sensitive side when it comes to OPKs when I tried them the first time.. I really wanted to get CBE OPKs but the store I went to when I HAD to get OPKs didn't have them... so I was stuck with the FRERs for this cycle.

Thanks again!

I'll be interested to see which day FF eventually picks as your O day.

Best of Luck & Baby

I have used the CBE opks, the ones with the happy face. A lot of ladies love them but I have found they catch my surge too early. I have been charting a while and have tried more than one brand of opks and have always gotten the best results with the internet cheapies -- and they are cheap! They seem to line up the best with my ovulation date on my chart.

Once again... I've gotta agree with Patty. Whenever I use IC OPKs, I have no trouble whatsoever. When I use something that costs more and is supposed to be "better", I have all kinds of issues.

For what it's worth, I think you O'd on CD 16. The third + OPK may have been you catching your LH surge on it's way down.

Either way, I think your BD timing looks FAB and now all you have to do is WAIT!

I'm a novice but after using OPK's you can O 24-36 hours after any positive OPK (most likely your last) and with FF you have 3 thermal shifts up.. Given that I'd BD tonight too or tomorrow morning. I'm likely wrong since i'm still TTC

Thanks for the input. Yes I did BD last night so hopefully got our bases covered. And I'll order some ICs for next cycle (if I need them - I don't want to assume I'm out)

UPDATE 1 Jan 29 - just got another blaring positive OPK on the FRER today, so that makes 4 days!
I have a feeling the FRER might be too sensitive so I'll grab some CBE tomorrow and try them together. Yay for peeing on two sticks at a time!! I'm fairly convinced I Od though because my boobs hurt so bad

UPDATE 2 Jan 30 - Early this afternoon I got another very very positive OPK (5th day) and I couldn't take it anymore so I went out and bought some CBE OPKs. I used one after holding for 4 hours and yay! It was negative! The test line was there but not as dark as the control line. Stupid FRER are too sensitive. Now I just wonder how long my surge really was.. or if I had one at all, since ALL of my positives were with the FRER. I will never use their OPKs again, since obviously they are too sensitive for me. I'm the kind of person who ALWAYS has some LH in their system - I know because I 've used OPKs near the end of my cycle instead of HPT hoping to pick up a positive and the test line would be there (just not dark). So at least it's solved, now I just have to wait on FF to see if I Od
Just wanted to update in case anyone else goes through the same thing.. stick to the same brand you're used to because you want to have consistent levels of sensitivity and beware of FRER OPKs.
